Curious as to what you guys think is the most effective or competitive Imperial list for the newest meta, minus Imperial Veterans upgrades?

That Paul whats his name dude is using palpmobile,wampa,omega leader and inquisitor as we speak at a big tournament.

There's lots of lists like it going around.

Three micro aces and the sheev feel good. Try something like that out.

That said....I personally have had good results with an extremely offense skewed RAC/whisper tagteam.

Fast effective and fun as hell.

Many variants on that theme abound and its all the rage in the California meta lately. It will surprise people in other areas.

The Palpmobile and aces... hands down. Can't kill what you can't hit.

the problem with Carnor is getting into range one of the u-boats with out being blasted to pieces

i see your reasoning, but carnor's ability will only prevent 2 of the u-boats from using their abilities because their bases are so big. you would have to be behind them or directly in front of them.

Yup, unless you were lucky. But two of them not shooting whilst the rest of your list kills them, in exchange for Carnor probably dying, is probably a good trade. Better, obviously, if he survives, which he's more likely to if he can take an action or two when he gets there rather than needing to reposition, but still.

Palpmobile, Whisper, and Inquisitor was a pretty good Palp Aces combo I was using the other day.

Raider plus Gozanti, appearantly. Or at least the cards from them.

I've had a great deal of success with Vader, Juno and Wampa with two Academy Pilots. Took first and second respectively at my last two store Championships.

Well it is interesting because Wave 8 seems to have a lot of, correct me if this is not the right term, "hate" builds or builds that counter the meta. So far the meta is dominated by TLT-wings, Palp Aces, brobots and shield regenerating poe and corran. Well Wave 8 seems to have all the counters.

• U-bot torps do a number on TLT-wings
• Boba Fet<crew> kills regen droids and Palp.

So yeah plenty of lists that kill the good list but that is the problem with counter builds, they are good against one thing. However get a mismatch like U-boat Vs. Palp Aces and it goes back in favor of the status quo meta.

So while there are lists that do kill the lists on top of the meta, they are not a top meta list in their own right.

The palp shuttle won't go in. It would let Soontir/Vader/Whisper do its dirty work.

The palp shuttle won't go in. It would let Soontir/Vader/Whisper do its dirty work.

... Go in? Even if it does a stop then a one forward the Us are fast enough to have that fat shuttle lit up turn two.

Really? No-one's talking about the Swarm?

Youngster Rage swarms are quite possibly the best possible list for fighting against the Triple Scout 1-2 punch lists, and it has sufficient flexibility to be built as an Ace-Counter, or Regen Counter, or whatever else you'd otherwise feel week against.

Heck, you could go pure, and fit Youngster + Rage in an 8-tie swarm.
