I agree with you that yours is better but it's not my choice to use the other one: I found it with the description. I repeat again: I change only what is obvious/needed to complete, adapt and keep what I find alive and canon. I'm not the author of most of the material. If I didn't put your Hedgehog clan into the fanbook it's probably because I lacked of something or it didn't fit into the template already established.

It doesn't solve my problem: I still have two hedgehogs. Even if I decide to change the one already in the book for another animal, I don't have a Porcupine, Histrix or Urchin mon. I like the echidna but I have still to adapt the clan to match it.

I'm trying to satisfy everyone. Just keep in mind that I do it freely and that it demands me time I don't have for the moment...

It's not a job for me either, it's just fun.

And, if I can be true: that Hedgehog that you put in the document is, frankly, not interesting at all, and more typical of some westernized, half-hearted, "soft", pathetic approach sometimes we see in L5R.

I believe my Hedgehog to be more "dramatic" and more grounded into Samurai mentality, mythos and themes.

The idea of the Hedgehog in itself, as a symbol of the camaraderie of a group of spearmen is a lot more in theme with Samurai ethics... p lus all the Vengeance, Brotherhood, Fealty and problematic Clan Identity themes which are tied to their Identity as Hedgehog ... but that's just me .

If you like THAT "soft" Hedgehog, Have fun with it!!

If you want to use my own Hedgehog, do as you like, even changing the totemic animal...but I really do not care.

I'll keep on using my Hedgehog in my own games.

Really interesting work you're doing here, and thanks for the shout-out. Though, considering the Echidna is exclusive to Australian-area in real life, I don't think they'd be well known in Rokugan; perhaps urchin or porcupine would be a better choice for their symbol? Still, keep them around if you want, they're one of my favorite animals, haha.
By the way, where do you find all these wonderful mon for these clans?

I know Echidna is very rare but this is not the most known clan of Rokugan anywhere. And the clan has no link with the sea... Above this, I also like this animal and I would have some difficulties to manage to produce an original mon on basis of an urchin.

For the mon I try to do my best with Photoshop. I'm surely not a specialist as I can't draw them by myself, it's only photo composition.
