Manoeuvres for Monsters - need official statemet

By NezziR, in WFRP Rules Questions

OK those made little sence to me.

Can we get an Explanation of what A/C/E actually is for those of us that havent read the rules.

I think it was touched on in a Diary cause it sounds familur but other than sounding familur I have no clue as to what it actually refers too.

A/C/E = Aggression, Cunning, Expertise. Monsters/NPC's have a dice pool they can use to affect their rolls or the PC's rolls (I think). Depending on if it is a physical or mental task they could add aggression or cunning dice. Expertise dice can be used for any roll.

You can use A/C against players during 'opposed' tests (see 'Opposed Checks - RB:42). I don't think you can add them to combat action difficulty.

A is a pool of dice used to add [W] to a monsters rolls performing physical actions ... or to apply a roll to opposing player physical actions (kind of like using a Dodge/Parry/Block)

C is a pool of dice used to add [W] to a monsters rolls performing intellectual actions ... or to apply a roll to opposed player mental actions.

E is a pool of [Y] Expertise/Skill dice the monsters can add to any of their rolls, with a max of 1 per roll.

Is there an example somewhere of a monster using 'Aggression' to augment a players attack roll? It says 'opposed checks', which is a written mechanic, but they could have been using the term more loosely.

I certainly could be interpreting it wrong too. I'll double check when I get back to my lovely rules, but my off-the-top-of-my-head recollection was that it specifically mentioned/exampled adding a to an attack against the monster.

Thanks for the heads up

Nope, it looks like I misremembered. NezziR is right, it seems to only apply to opposed checks using A/C/E dice.

Not sure if this was already suggested but maneuvers for monsters could cost 1 aggro die per extra maneuver.
