Armada, space alert style

By DUR, in Star Wars: Armada

Related to my game too long thread, here's an idea that I think I may try with some people this weekend using the coreset (we're big fans of xcom and space alert):

Armada Alert:

-Every activation on your side still extent gets you 15 seconds on the timer.

-Commands dials are issued in the same way for each ship and must be issued before movement orders are issued.

-Movement orders are given using face down cards:

Forward

Yaw L/R (depending on orientation of the card)

Speed changes are determined by using more or less forward cards.

-Firing orders are given by issuing a target card (enumerated ships required) and the orientation of the card determines which hull zone(s) your are firing from.

On reveal, ships move using normal activation order rules for initiative. The cards determine to what shape you must set your maneuver tool. E.g. forward forward R R forward L means no click no click two clicks right one click left. Illegal maneuvers are ignored (too many clicks) or discarded (too many forwards).

Firing orders are then resolved in order of initiative. Illegal shots are ignored.

Squadron play occurs as normal.

Thoughts?

Feels like it would alow everything down!

If it ain't broke, don't (try to) fix it!
