What should I mark my stuff with at tournaments?

By AdmiralThrawn, in X-Wing

I'm getting ready to attend my first tournament and I have seen that many people use some kind of marking on their cardboard bases, cards, etc. And was wondering what the best one is and what you all use. I've seen stickers used in the worlds videos but I'm not sure if there are specific ones for this purpose.

I sharpie the edges of my tokens, looks great.

You could also T-Bag your tokens so that no one else will touch them.

Dude, you need professional help! :-)

Sounds like the traditional way.

Sounds like the prefered way.

I hit the edge of my obstacles with a paint pen. I use a pattern to separate mine from all others.

What about dice guys? I know it says now you can marker them, but ... ugh, im not sure I'm ready to.

For my obstacles, I found these very small Star Wars stickers. The asteroids have either the Millennium Falcon or a X-Wing, while the debris clouds have Tie Fighters.

Coloured sticky dots. One on each dial hub, one on each movement template, one on each asteroid. I don't bother marking the ships, because if there are any clashes in a matchup, they'll be marked anyway, and I paint mine where I can. I also don't bother marking dice, as long as I end up with the right number of dice I don't massively care if I swap with someone by accident..

Your scent/urine

I thought everyone did it this way.

Lick them, thoroughly, right before each game. Put your dice in your mouth, and spit them out to roll them. Stare at your opponent, never blinking, while you do this.

I have big yellow stickers on my asteroids with my name on them, it leaves 0 confusion and also they cheer me on while I'm playing. Other than that I'm not sure I've ever been worried about anything walking off, dice and ship stuff are easy to keep track of and any cardboard tokens that aren't rare like weapons disabled I have a ton of.

^--- This. Should be totally standard. I add a slight tilt to my head while doing so. Bugging out the eyes helps as well. :P  :D

The fun point is that many peolpe seem to oversee that there is always a blue sticker on all original ship bags. Just drawna symbol on them and use them

Sharpie on my asteroids, my initials in black letters right in the middle.

Typically I don't share dice, so no problems there

all my ships enter the tournament painted, so no confusion there either.

Three lines in biro on the edge of my obstacles.

Everything else I keep track of during the game. Haven't lost anything yet.

Isn't it obvious?

You need some chrome spray! :D

It's what all the champs use! :P

The blood of your enemies

Not going to lie, this was my very first thought upon seeing the thread title.

i have tiny storm trooper stickers on my dials.

yellow paint on the edges of templates

little pen marks on asteroids

all ships are repaints

all pieces are soaked and dried regularly with the salty tears of my opponents

just as a side story that sort of coincides with this....I have kept my electronic tuner in my underwear to keep bandmates from taking it and losing it. buying 6 snarks in a year because mandolin players can`t keep track of their own gear will cause extreme measures to be taken.EXTREME MEASURES.

....but....i digress....

As the random spectator comes up and gives you a hearty pat on the back, while wishing you good luck on your upcoming rolls. :D "Okay, but I'm going to make you re-roll your wad of phlegm. No, that's the only one."
