My continued reading of T-65 fixes prompted this question. It is common knowledge that Corran is the only E-wing that ever sees use. Yet, I don't see the continuous clamor to fix it either. Is it that any fix would make Corran very OP or is it that no one cares that much? I understand lore and the love for the X-Wing. Is it simply the E-wing doesn't share this long history or is there an in-game reason that the drum isn't constantly being beaten for this unpopular ship to be fixed? Thanks for the replies.
No love for the E-wing?
E wings are ugly. I don't love E wings.
Considering that E-wings are no longer cannon they might as well not exist ![]()
It is an expensive ship with a lot of capability. As Corran sees a lot of regular use, any balancing has to take him into account while still making the other ships viable. Not saying they will not do something to help the generics out or offer more pilots in the future with abilities that are worth taking, but there are ships with bigger problems that are likely to be targetted first.
I've been flying 2 knaves, with the regen droids and sensor jammer, along with blue ace, bb8 and autothrusters - and it's been a surprisingly good list so far.

Edit: The problem now I see is that the T70 is what the E-Wing should have been from the start so any fix will need to keep it different from the T70
Edited by Spaceman91I really really really want to like to Ewing, but I just can't.
E-Wing have the same problem as Defenders: they have strong named pilots, but horrendously over costed generics. Fixing the latter without making the former overpowered is a very tricky process. I'd be shocked if the Rebel equivalent of Imperial Veterans doesn't include Es, a clever fix, new pilots, and E-Wing only astromechs (which could well be the fix).
There are E-Wings besides Corran?

The fix needs to be an Astro (IMO). Easest way to not OP Corran because hes always gunna want R2-D2 instead.
E wings are great ships, fun to play and that System slot combined with Astromech slot and good dial is great. But simply generics are by 3 points too expensive. Fix the cost and they are ok.
I have no idea about what kind of upgrade card fix will give us FFG...
There are E-Wings besides Corran?
Etahn is massively underrated, but mainly because he's so expensive it precludes his use. Now in a 150pt game... goddamn.
Advanced Astromech Synchroniztion
Modification, 0 points, Ewing only
Non-unique astromechs cost 2 less
If you equip an astromech named R7,
System slot upgrades cost 2 less.
Once per round, when you spend a TL,
gain a TL on the same target.
So every Ewing gets a free FCS... except R2D2 Corran, who needs to spend an action to TL in the first place, and can only maintain it if he only modifies one of his attacks.
Astromechs named R7, so far, all have something to do with TL mechanics- R7T1 boosts and gains a TL as an action, and R7 generic spends a TL for a bit of extra defence.
And generic astromechs generally arnt worth their price, but are free on the Ewing.
The cheapest build, therefore, is a Knave with R7 generic and FCS for 0 points each- whatever he shot at last round, he gets to use R7 and mod his own attack, before FCS activates again.

Electronic Baffle
I've been wanting to try that but seems like it wouldn't be enough.
The E-wing: too ugly for scum.

I was kidding.
FCS seems still to be the best upgrade for that slot.
I like E Wings. They're almost as sexy as Z-95's.
Cheers

There are threads about it every couple months. Most fix ideas focus on the astro so they don't buff Corran.
I think most of the ideas were to fix it would to be to give it a title or modification which worked but limited the E-wings to R7 astromechs, and hopefully more R7 astromechs added in the speculative Rebel Veterans.
To tell the truth I think they'll probably announce the Rebel Veterans at Gencon with the X-wing and E-wing, with the X-wing getting a fix and content from Rouge One.
Come to think on it, E-Wings get to use the Electronic Baffle + R2-D2 combo

Imagine Etahn in an X-Wing at 26 points with an EPT slot. He'd be a beast.
The problem is that he's a) fairly costed for his ability but b) his price precludes having him support enough other ships to actually get much use from his ability. It's a weird place to be.
Put him in an Epic match, however, and he should shine.

He's bloody amazing in Furball, as his ability doesn't only apply to allied ships, just to ships attacking one of your enemies
E-wings are just in such a bad spot with the new T-70. They are supposed to be advanced star fighters but the T-70 gets the tech slot and systems slots are so touchy. Astromechs buffs both versions of Xwings and Ywings now. They're just in such a bad point slot. I think they're real close to the Starviper in so many ways and just like the Starviper they don't quite bring it. Unlike the Starviper there is a lot of competition.

I have flown Adv, sensors + targeting astromech it was actually very fun to fly. I used etahn as he had an ept, but i didn't find a good talent. (Tried stay ontarget and juke) Maybe just VI, wired, or out manuever...38 some points is a lot for 1.5 actions a round fragile ship.
