Furball, 32 points, am I crazy??

By darkevans, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I'm playing in a furball tourney on Monday. Small ships only, 32 points, no Lone Wolf, no large ships, points scored by doing damage and killing ships, lose points for dying, and I'm thinking I'm crazy for what I'm about to try. Talk me out of it, please. I know everyone is going to have some sort of Soontir, OL, Inquisitor, and so on. I'm actually thinking about a Scyk.

Laetin with title HLC and Stealth. I'm thinking good chance at doing damage. If someone attacks and misses and I get that evade especially without having to spend a focus I think that will deter attacks. I could be so wrong though. It can either go really really well or blow up right in my face.

What you think??

Is this 1v1 or is it free for all? if its 1v1 Laetin wouldn't get to use the evade because it would be gone at the end of the turn.

Free for all 6-8

In that case it wouldn't be bad, but i would run talonbane with glitterstim and then a 2 point EPT

I think it would depend on the exact points for doing damage, killing things, and dying. Is there respawning? I have the feeling you are going to bite it hard and often, but probably be one of the highest damage output ships as well.

You get one point for doing damage(amount doesn't matter), 5 points for a kill, and you lose 2 everytime you die. Bonus: two points if you don't die at all.

Those rules actually help low PS ships a little bit, most targets will get softened up for you. If you always die to a single attack, you give out six points per life. If you make sure you don't let the same ship get you over and over again, and get a kill every life or two, I think you got this.
