Sorry if this is a bit long…

Store Championship – The Table’s Edge – Amarillo, TX – 22 players (7 Rebel, 8 Imperial, 7 S&V)

I have only been playing X-Wing for a month or so. I was very excited to compete in my first tournament.

List Juggler is here: http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1389

My list (100):

Miranda Doni (K-Wing) + Lando Calrissian + TLT (38)

Warden Squadron Pilot + TLT + Tactician (31)

Warden Squadron Pilot + TLT + Tactician (31)

--------------------

Game 1 (Josh):

Keyan Farlander+ Fire-Control System + AutoBlaster + Flechette Torpedoes + Flechette Torpedoes + Stay on Target + C-3PO

Nera Daniels + Advanced Proton Torpedoes + Extra Munitions + Push the Limit + Intelligence Agent

Bandit Squadron Pilot + Ion Pulse Missiles

Won 100-31. I took out Nera first, then the Bandit, and finally Keyan. I lost about 6 shields the whole match.

--------------------

Game 2 (Jimmie G – Placed 4 th )

Poe Dameron + Veteran Instincts + R5-P9 + Autothrusters

Coran Horn + Push the Limit + Engine Upgrade + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System

Prototype Pilot + Chardaan Refit

Won 100-62. A Warden went down early, but I took Coran out fast, which was the right move. The A-Wing was pesky as hell, but he finally went down too. Poe got another Warden before finally succumbing to Miranda.

--------------------

Game 3 (Colin A.):

Rear Admiral Chiraneau + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade + Darth Vader + Gunner

Whisper + Veteran Instincts + Advanced Cloaking Device + Fire-Control System + Agent Kallus

Won 100-62. This game was close and for a long time I thought he was going to win, but ultimately my list prevailed. Again lost a Warden frighteningly early. Focused on taking the Decimator out with my two remaining K’s and Whisper was easy mop-up once the Decimator was destroyed. I had no shields on Miranda or the 2 nd Warden at the end.

--------------------

Game 4 (John G. – Placed 5th)

Darth Vader + Veteran Instincts + TIE/x1 + Advanced Targeting Computer + Engine Upgrade
Whisper + Veteran Instincts + Fire-Control System + Advanced Cloaking Device
Omega Leader + Juke + Comm Relay

Won 39-31. This game was amazing and extremely tense. John took a long time to set up each and every time. With only a 60 minute time limit, it was agonizing to wait. I focused on taking down Vader as fast as I could. Again I lost one Warden very quickly. The rest of the match was spent chasing each other around the mat. Vader finally fell about 35 minutes into the match. Almost everything was evaded from that point on. The match came down to an Omega Leader shot on my remaining Warden that had one hull left. Miranda had full hull. Time was up and we were playing the final round of action. Omega rolled one hit. The Warden had a focus token left and with only one agility die; everything came down to this one roll. I rolled the die and it skipped across the table and landed next to his damage deck. Evade was on top of the die. I had won. The roll made me 4-0 and knocked my opponent, who was now 3-1 out of the cut.

I was the only player to finish 4-0 and was 1 st in the Swiss. An amazing accomplishment for someone who had only practiced twice before the tourney.

--------------------

Semi-Final (Michael D. – Placed 2 nd ):

Darth Vader + Proton Rockets + Veteran Instincts + TIE/x1 + Advanced Targeting Computer
Wampa
Lieutenant Colzet + TIE/x1 + Fire-Control System
Omicron Group Pilot + Emperor Palpatine

Lost 14-100. Dice failed me as did my damage cards. My first Warden lost shield quickly and then took two crits in a row, BOTH direct hits. It was a terrible start that I would never recover from. Maybe I should have gone after the shuttle first, but instead went after Wampa. I did kill Wampa, but lost my 2 nd Warden right after that. Miranda did some nifty flying to take the shuttle down to 3 hull, but I couldn’t outfly Omega and Vader forever. The match almost went the whole 60 minutes.

--------------------

Final: Michael D. conceded the Finals match without playing as he had four hours to drive home and didn’t care about obtaining the regional bye. Kinda disappointing to lose to him only to have him forfeit the final match.

The gentleman that won was flying:

IG-88A + IG-2000 + Heavy Laser Cannon + Crack Shot + Fire-Control System + Glitterstim + Autothrusters
IG-88B + IG-2000 + Heavy Laser Cannon + Crack Shot + Fire-Control System + Glitterstim + Autothrusters

--------------------

Up next, have another SC on Saturday. Toyed with double Ghost and double JM5K builds, but I’ll be running the 3 K-Wings again instead with a little variant.

Thanks for the write up mate.
