4 Player Dwarf Decks

By Seastan, in Strategy and deck-building

I see requests quite often for 4 player decks for people to play with their friends. Now that Dori is released, it's possible to put together 4 mono-sphere Dwarf decks (with Spirit getting the short end of the stick when it comes to the heroes), where the entire field gets boosted from Dain. These decks purposefully require only a single Core Set, but could be improved with more.

They also require pretty much the full card pool, and could again be improved by having an unlimited pool (putting 3x Battlemasters in both the tactics deck and the Oin deck, for example), and I realize anyone with the full card pool is probably capable of putting together 4 decks on their own, maybe they want a starting point.

I think these would be really fun to play, but are currently untested and welcoming suggestions.

Why no Horn of Gondor? Even at a 1x it could be amazing in the tactics deck whenever they find it and it fits on Thalin since he is likely questing.

I also think Well Equipped could find it's way into the spirit deck and any remaining dwarf weapons so they can outfit themselves to make use of Dwalin's ability. Or give them a copy of Cidadel Plate and Ring Mail to try to help get Dori setup more quickly.

Hey Seastan, kinda off topic, but do you take on requests? I want to build decks for 3 players, with the Ring Fellowship as heroes: Frodo, Sam, Boromir, Pippin, Merry, Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas (assuming all sets and 2 core sets available)

I wish I had the volume of cards that you guys do. I'm so limited in my choices

No Horn because I decided it was too off-theme to justify.

This is how I would break it down. It is a little heavy on combat. This is because the Aragorn deck is just way too powerful at combat to pass up, and then Legolas and Gimli are forced to be tactics as well. So the Gandalf deck needs to be fully focused on questing, and same with the Boromir leadership deck, which should try to focus on getting Steward up on Boromir, and Visionary leadership and a bunch of Gondor allies, with minimal focus on trying to improve Legolas or Gimli because the Aragorn deck will already take care of most combat.

Aragorn (Ta)

Merry (Ta)

Pippin (Lo)

Gandalf

Frodo

Sam

Legolas

Gimli

Boromir (Le)
