Big Box Mountain

By magicrealm, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

i am hoping for a big box Mountain expansion. If i add " this year" am i a dreamer? Production time of ffgreminds me of sovjetunion, waiting 10 years for a car, 2 cylinder.

By 'mountain', what do you mean? There is another one coming, 'the chains that rust' or something like that. It wil be, so far we know, a small box, tough.

Don't expect a mountain of stuff inside :D

Would be great to see mountain themed expansion. With ancient tombs, or ice caves as dungeons. There are so many great monsters that could fit this theme like giants, harpies, all sorts of undead creatures.

I still hope for 3 things, in a matter of expansions: 1 - ice theme (something like tomb of ice in 1st edition) 2 - deser theme (I cannot die without seeing mummies, giant scarabs and a lieutenat like Anubis in descent :) 3 - last, but not least, oriental theme. (there is room for a lot of stuff here, mainly new classes, like ninja, shao lin, wujen, monk...some oriental dragons would be cool too)

I hope we get more Uthuk theme. This is a cornerstone of other games in the universe, yet, we haven't seen much of it in Descent (apart from a couple of OL cards). Like obscenes, flesh ripper brutes etc.

Shameless plug: I made the Uthuk a central part of my "Legacy of Timmorran" custom campaign (for example, see the quest Flames of Chaos ). Rather than including actual Chaos lords or Warlocks, I utilized existing monsters (hulks and sorcerers) and repurposed them.

I've just admitted an illegal smuggling of a couple more Descent expansions to my wife, so as atm I am missing 3 H&M collections in order to play it, I think it might be a while till I can grab everything needed without a threat to marriage.

On a serious note - have you playtested it yourself/had other people playtesting it - how did it play?

I played the quests by myself while writing them. I just completed a full 4 hero campaign with my group, and we had a lot of fun but it led to some changes to act 2 quests which are still being implemented.

Let us know then when you end up with fixes :)
If I get all the expansions, I'd gladly try it

Fixes for several of the quests are already up. I'm also interested in hearing feedback from other groups as self-testing is not very effective.

I hope too. They have several interesting settings in some previous Runebound games ( Mists of Zanaga , Tomb of Ice , Sea of Blood , Island of Dread , Midnight ... ) can bring some really cool content to Descent (ocean , islands, jungle tiles , new terrains types - mists vines, etc) . My wish is that at some point they bring the heroes of Mists of Zanaga and Midnight (great ones) and more classes: shaman , battle mage , blade dancer, a shapeshifter hero or class and so on) ... ;)

shaman , battle mage, a shapeshifter . ;)

I have these 3 classes on my own board game. Except the battle mage, wich I call warlock. Not a very cool name, but it cames to mind when I was developing it.
