Slave 1 coloring question

By Red 7, in X-Wing

I am hoping that some of you will be able to help me find some accurate reference material for the Slave 1.

I have found LOTS of images of the Slave 1, but the coloring varies significantly from grey to green, and many shades in between. Even the "movie" images that I have seen are too dark for me to see clearly the colors.

Can any of you help me out?

There is no reference for the color - lighting changes an object's color more than anything, so even in the movies the Slave-1 changed shades in different scenes. Unless you hunt down a Slave-1 prop in "reference" lighting - its going to be difficult to get the exact shade correct.

Thank you both for the VERY helpful links and feedback!

I am not interested in exact matches for colour. I think that as you mentioned the light changes are making the colouring difficult to determine.

That being said....

I am fine with the base being red, the "bulges" over the wings and dorsal paneling being olive green, but I am still struggling in regards to the colour of the two toned body...

Is it two tone grey, or more tones of green?

Right now I am leaning towards greys as seen in this link from above:

What would you guys say, grey or green for the main body?

The 3 main colors (to me) of the Slave-1 are a reddish brown, a dark green (bluges, tip & ramp), and a light grey (most of the body) - then again there is significant battle/flight damage on the ship where paint has chipped and panels have been replaced. There is a green section between the cockpit, blaster cannons, missile launcher and main cannon sections - however different sources have different colored panels elsewhere. It's possible the light grey is mottled as oppoesd to weathering as well.

Id probably take a look in the repaints thread and find a repaint that you like the look of. Might be able to contact the ownerto get an exact shade.
