Pg 192 F&D under "installing mods"

I think I may have been doing this wrong, since my EotE game. Do you have to roll individually for each mod? Gradually increasing the diff as they add more mods? Or is it one big "winner take all" roll at the maxxed diff?

I was doing one roll for the whole shebang, assuming they wouldn't want you to make so many rolls. The way it's worded though, I think I may be mistaken.

One roll for each seperate mod, getting harder only for successfully installed mods. If a check is failed then that mod your trying to instal can never be attempted again, although if there are multiples of the same mod (e.g 3 +1Damage mods is 3 seperate mods) then the other mods of that type are still available.

Lolz, yeah that's what I thought after reading it. ****, I ran EotE for so long.. and to find out the stuff I missed. Well that's why I'm rereading F&D front to back.. it's how I found this misstep.

Note that, when modding their own lightsaber, a force user reduces the difficulty to apply a mod by 2 and gets to add their Force dice to the check.

Minor Clarification: The Force die only gets added when modifying the crystal, provided it's one the character has personally attuned to, which in the published adventures thus far equates to personally harvesting the crystal from a suitable location.

The reduced difficulty does apply to both hilt and crystal, since per the CRB building a lightsaber hilt is more a matter of having the know-how and acquiring the parts.

The sidebar on p. 196 of Force and Destiny that talks about adding the force die when rolling to mod crystals actually doesn't say anything about the character having to attune themselves to a crystal. It's the character's connection to the force that the ability triggers off of, not their connection to the crystal.
