Sorry I'm late to the party. Do I get still get points?
Only if you recant your stated dislike of the Assault Gunboat.
RECANT, HERETIC!

Well, his point isn't entirely unreasonable, although he has confused something: Good turret lists are easy to play, thats why they are good, its the "bad" turret lists that need a lot of pre planning and general skill.
I would argue that turrets actually do take skill to fly effectively. maximizing effectiveness of range, dealing with autothrusters and the fact that if enough shots come into you, you're toast. Good turret lists are difficult to fly.
LOL. Please, don't even try.
-Someone who started the game playing Blaster Turret HWKs
"Maximizing effectiveness of range" on something that either fires or not sounds kinda weird.
Now tell me that there has been one individual that has been playing a Falcon trying to keep Fel in arc at range 2 just to keep auto thrusters from engaging. Sorry but I uh, have doubts about that. Most of the time it is "evade. Ptl focus that turns into evade. Then c3Po, and maybe something else that will minimize damage before the ship becomes a space toast.
Unless you play Dash with the occasional barrel roll, most of the ships that carry a turret are tanky targets that fire back, nothing more. Pretending THAT to be difficult, well.. Sorry, can't accept it.
BLASTER TURRET HWKs.
VI is a requirement for every ship pilot skill 5-7 because the middling pilot skill is stuck between a rock and a hard place. It is too low to out shoot anyone in a faceoff and too low to be a blocker. Not only does it get the worst of both worlds it also increases the point value which means you end up taking less ships thus giving your opponent more MOV per kill.
Chewbacca /w MF Title, Predator & Gunner is laughing, Rrrruuuaaaaaurrh-style, right now. ![]()
I think the real question is if we should call the TIE Phantom the TIE/ph now that the ghost/phantom are out.
yeah I know, I wished Disney called it something else like specter. The Phantom Attack Shuttle is now more confusing than the TAP. Calle it the Phantom and you got TIE Phantom, call it the Shuttle and people think palpmobile. So what do we call a metallic particle that comes out of the rear end of a ship?
Attack shuttle with title.
I just played Whipser and a Decimator today (2nd game with Decimator) I came in 3rd, with two full wins, and one loss to Uboats. I think Whisper is fine.
BLASTER TURRETS HWKS
The ones you started using, yeah.
Kudos. Did you move onto other ships, by chance? ![]()
Or did you keep playing those horrible deathtraps?

At least there aren't any V-wings in the game yet?

I give them Dorsal Turrets or TLTs now ![]()
Dorsal Turret + Cloak Palob is a little bit of a thing, pretty awesome ship.
FFGs downfall when designing turret ships was giving them way too good dials. The Falcon was good, the Outrider is even more ridiciulous. Even the Decimator is more than serviceable. The Y-Wing was good until Unhinged came and broke that dial. When playing a HWK you really need that turret because the dial is just that awefull. With it they can even be good, but still need a good plan so you don't have to play the "I need 4 turns to return to the action - oh wait, they are on the other side of the map again!"-game. Thats good game design for me and thats how it should have been.
PWT was entirely unnecessary to introduce when there already was a turret slot that had reasonable limitations. I wish the Falon would have been a lot more like the Ghost we got, which is a fine ship.

There is this one

Welcome to my world.. I fly the Lambda, and won 4 tournaments in a row dealing often the final blow in many matches with that ship.
Edited by Arma QuattroI think the real question is if we should call the TIE Phantom the TIE/ph now that the ghost/phantom are out.
Nope. It's the Rebel Attack Shuttle.
The Firespray 31 isn't the "Slave 1"
The YT-1300 isn't the "Milenium Falcon"
The G1-A isn't the "Mist Hunter"
The Tie Phantom is, however, "The Phantom".
The Tie Interceptor is "The Interceptor"
I'm sure there are other examples. Titles are single ships. You can't actually fly "dual Falcons". It's just not possible. It's really rather annoying. Am I the only one who thinks so?
Dual Falcon with two c3p0 and title evade and Lando and what not.
What a nightmare.

YT 1300 is "Falcon" because the only "real" YT 1300 is the ORS, all the others have Falcon grade stats
G1-A is a Misthunter even with no title because it sounds cool
Tie Interceptor is Soontir because REASONS
Firespray 31 is Slave because it sounds cooler
and so you DO play doublefalcon list. Because it's easier to remember and sounds better.

I guess that is true, if you build your fat turret right you can easily win any tournament... ohh wait. That's not true at all. Turrets are easily brought down by concentrated fire. Effective range management is key to winning. Boosting through asteroids with a large base to keeps ships from shooting at you does require skill. Any newb can pick up a 4 tlt list but there is a big difference in how tough it is based on the player. Turrets are more forgiving to mistakes unlike phantoms or soontir who die to mistakes.
...making it something of a novelty that is never seen in the top rounds of serious competitive play.

DAMS-DATS-CRAPS!!!
When it was first released the TIE Phantom was a terrifying threat that totally reshaped the meta to a degree that it required the most extreme errata to rules text as read in the history of the game as a nerf to rein in its dominance.... Now it's kind of the white elephant of the empire's forces, it's impress traits weighed down by its high cost and extreme fragility making it something of a novelty that is never seen in the top rounds of serious competitive play. The meta grew around it and in the four waves and other releases since it's release numerous counters have popped and I think it is time to return it to its former glory by reinstating the original text on the cloaking rule. The game is finally ready for the Phantom as it was originally intended.

Um, I think that was the point.........
(GreatMazinkaiser used Confusion, it was super effective)
Joe, why do teh E-wing and Z-95 not do the shootie-thing with teh rest of teh shipses?
Because the Z-95 is antisocial and nobody likes the E-wing so they exclude him.

maybe E-wing approoves of the post and N'Dru is always the devil's advocate

They are Corran & Drew and they are looking out at the viewer waiting to blast the next dumb posting... then the rest of the guys follow their lead.

^wish I could like that 10 times!

This one reminds me of the Cylon fighters from the original Battlestar Galactica series.
