Okay, you did post yours before mine, but I posted mine without actually having seen yours, so we've got kind of a Newton-Leibniz thing going on :D

I sense a great disturbance in the Force... as if millions of ivory cosmic monoliths were flying off the shelves, and onto the gaming table. I fear something... meta... has happened.

I like the idea of a self-destructing, 4 dice throwing, baffalo parking lot. At 29 points, it won't see much play over the Palpmobile. However, I desperately want to run one with a mini swarm, or some aces.

1. Get into position overlooking the battlefield

2. Baffling stops for dayz

3. HLC: pew pew

4. ???

5. Profit

Maybe not a recipe for success per se, but an interesting recipe for fun for sure. :)

SO, you could play a Sabine bomber VCX with Baffle, and do a hard 5-k turn and drop a steaming pile of suck on your opponent.

So I'm going to do some shameless self-promotion.. I've been using Baffle on a Lambda in an Aces build and it's been quite successful in the TCOpen tournament (log files are here).

I can safely say that it has won me games. There are games where it hasn't come into play at all, but there were some games where it was simply amazing.

Reasonable people can disagree on Ion Cannon vs Tractor/Tactician, or whatever, but I think the Baffled Doomshuttle has to be in any quad pod.

i would argue that 1 tractor/tactician in place of a single ion, wouldnt go amiss...

slow and arc restricted cows might like the extra distance(from BR/boost in arc)/less dice/stress that one has to add.

i'll agree that two ions is nice, but line the farmer (tractortician) up behind the Steer ( cow puns and directional control puns) and the angry neighbor (Vadershuttle) who's land the cattle always end up grazing on.

So uh yeah turns out my body isn't ready for the BaffleBots

The thought of an Aggressor taking a 3-Sloop or 4-K and then Boosting into my face is going to haunt my dreams now. I brought this on myself.

I like this thread. Anytime a shuttle can be used, its a good time. I'm thinking 2 tractor/baffle/ion cows with vessery tie/d and tractor could be fun and leave room for other stuff. One could almost set the board up to their advantage with all the control in the list.

I like the A/C Autoblaster/TBeam combo there. Baffle and IG-88A is some nice teamwork but do you think C can pull weight more than B or D?

To be honest the tractors and glitterstim were spare points, that just happened to synergise. The idea behind not taking IG-B is that he's pretty useless with an autoblasters cannon! C and are pretty evenly balanced though - C gives you a defence boost while you get into range 1, while D gives you more maneuver options.

im somewhat new and certainly not the best player in the world. but how exactly do you fly the build in the OP?

just line up the shuttles in front of their ships then all stop / tractor them to hold them in place? i dont understand.

Well, it also gets rid of Ion Tokens, making it work really well with Leebo and 4Lom crews...

Nah, man.

​You get to fly them as though they were actual ships now, using the E-Baffles to remove reds when when necessary.

You never Tractor with all of your tractor beams in one round, at least not in the 4x Waffleo list. They're for stopping one enemy ship in their tracks, so the rest of your ships can concentrate fire on them.

​And, of course, there's the Tractor + Tactician combo, wherein you tractor beam them into Range 2, whereupon they are dealt a stress token.

It actually works pretty well vs Alpha Strike lists as well; 40 HP to a list means that I'll still be relatively healthful after they've spent their collective load.

​I can't move Scouts around, sadly, but given that I can actually maneuver now means that I get to joust against something my size fairly effectively.
