Lurtz's WIP (Carriers Gameplay)

Technically this ship is not cannon, however I like it and it is again something I use in Role Playing. feel free to give me your thoughts.

It was designed for the old X wing/tie games I believe.

At the least, Fleet Games rules and objectives will be up on KDY by the end of the day. Hopefully more as well. All are tagged Lurtz and Fleet.

Possibly. Arcs and bases are the hardest part to add to (LOTS of images to be made for each arc set).

All current listings are now on KDY. Some of the squadron keywords and silhouettes are still not in the system. I will look into that later this evening.

Editing a new listing is a breeze. I will be more than happy to adjust as you go forward with playtesting.

So at first I did think about what you guys were saying with the command dials and to an extent I did agree. That was a mistake.

This is Fleet, and more specifically Carrier gameplay, The center stage of that has to be the carrier combat and maneuvering. Could I come up with a system that changes how the command dials react for all the 'special' ships, well to extent as you see I do modify two key ones. But thats the point, the Squadron command will remain the focus of the carriers rightly so and concentrate Fire will remain the focus of the ships of the line.

When using either of those ships as there designated role you will be a majority of the time using those commands. However this doesn't make other commands less important, They might not have the same impact as they did now that squadron commands and concentrate fire were buffed for there specific modifications but thats ok because maneuvering and engineering will always remain important.

Imagine ignoring maneuver commands with the SSD, ESPECIALLY the Bellator at speed 3. you're gonna fly off the table real quick.

Now its true that a Battleship designated Bellator or Allegiance probably wont be using many Squadron Commands but then thats the point. Specialization.

Is that a new extra-large base on the Bellator?

If so, what are the base measurements?

No its just the Large base. sorry to disappoint you.

Still working on this, tackling other things atm aswell.

Any suggestions about ships or rules that could be implememted I would be very interested in hearing. For example the Imperial line up too the SSD has its main stay hemmed out but if there are any tertiary ships that someone would want id love to here about it.

And what is the consensus on the new upgrade cards? The pricing was very 'guestimate' by me and id love feedback on that.

Was it intentional that Battleship's armor makes the bearer of that card practically immune to light squadron attacks? For example, a Y-wing just went from 3/4 chance to deal damage to 1/4, X-wings down to 1/8. It would make Fleet engagements even more protracted, as now it is much harder to bring down Bellator, Allegiance, or the new Home One. I'd need to play a game with it, but it seems both overpowered and overcosted, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Yes that was intentional. I disagree with your sentiment that it will make games longer though. (lets be clear though, fleet games are going to be long)

In fleet games carriers are central and incredibly important to the game, so much so that to not have one is to handicap yourself substantially. The battleship card allows players the opportunity to invest in one powerful ship that specializes in ship to ship. Essentially I put it in there for some peoples preference for BB's over CV's

I would still bet good money on the command carrier force versus Battleship force with two players of like skill.

That said the pricing on those two cards was pretty much guesswork as there really isnt any upgrade cards that are as substantial as those. feel free to offer alternatives with your reasoning.

One thing I just noticed that I should make clear, and obviously im going to have to fix the card now is that the 2 damage is totalled before you use defense tokens. So if a B wing scored 2 hits on an allegiance and he used brace he would still suffer 1 damage with "battleship"

I will have to fix the wording on that.

And finally my Versions of Allegiance, Home One, and especially Bellator are all going to be hard to kill XD

Though I do understand your concerns, they do make sense :)

Finally finished my MC75, now I have a ship to go with the card :)

For those interested Im going to be selling most of my armada collection. please message me with inquires if it interests you.

For you "Lage" squadrons, I'd recommend simply changing it to read "Large: ships and squadrons that attack this ship add one point of damage for every [Crit] result rolled."

-edit- ah, shoot. Should have checked the date. Sorry you aren't sticking around, this seems like the perfect time to want to hang onto everything with new ships coming out.

I still think your ideas are as close to the Super Star Destroyers as anything anyone (myself included) has come up with. I check in on them occassionally while I'm scribbling for Starfleet and the RMN on KDY.

aww thanks for that guys. I never did get to show off my ideas for the executor ssds in depth. Glad to know you guys are inspired by the work I did though :)

I dont play armada anymore but I miss the communitty which was one of the best aspects XD

There was a thread earlier that asked "how much time and or money did you spend on Armada?" I believe my number is the highest so far, but I've only played a handful of games, I too, stick around for the community, mostly. That and I enjoy making stuff.

Well, I mean, I was up there too in the time... You had KDY, I have Imperial Phoenix :D

The unique thing for me is that I'm probably the only person here who has a Negative number for their overall Costs :D

The BIGGEST difference is, YOUR efforts are ENJOYED BY MANY MORE PEOPLE - and for that, I really Salute you :D

... and I totally didn't count Production Man-Hours on the Ship Trays, either... Sheesh. Shootin' myself in the foot here :D

These cards are crazy. Basically if you're in front of that Allegiance, you're in double arc.... of TWELVE dices...

they were made to be potent. how do they compare to the new ships I wonder. Which I havent even looked at XD

I've been seeing a lot of other genres on kdy a lot. Some folks have come up with interesting game structure miss like fleet titles and the like. Most of my own effort continues to be expanding other factions.
