Tiny question that came up in play today.

By OddballE8, in X-Wing

Does it count as overlapping, if the "pegs" on the bases touch?

ie. I can't move the ship to its proper end position because the pegs on its base collide with the pegs on the other ships base.
However, should those pegs not have existed, the ships wouldn't be touching (or even if the ship was a few mm's to the left or right, so it wasn't peg-on-peg).

Yes. Nubs count.

Yes. Nubs count.

They do?

Is there an official statement on this?

Yes. Nubs count.

To be slightly more clear, yes, the nubs count for overlapping during movements, barrel rolls, boosts, etc. They do not count for measuring range for attacks.

Check the rulebook.

The pegs are part of the base, so if the pegs overlap, the bases overlap.

Here ya go:

GUIDES
Each ship’s base has two pairs of movement guides,
one pair on the front and one pair on the back. These
guides are ignored for all purposes except executing
maneuvers and overlapping obstacles and other
ships
. In those cases, the guides count as part of
the base.
