How do i beat triple Jumpmasters?

By CaptainAl, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Everyone in my local area are running triple jumpmasters or the ghost. I only play imperial, and I'm not sure how to take down these lists. right now I'm running

Vader

VI

ADV targeting computer

Title

Engine upgrade

Prockets

Inquisitor

PTL

Prockets

title

AT

Omega leader

Juke

Comm relay

What would you suggest i run to counter my current meta?

My Fat Decimator did pretty well against it (RAC with Predator, Palp and Ysanne. I highly recommend Ysanne), but I was using PS11 Vader as a wingman, who did not pull his weight in that fight. Much too afraid of bumping, and having to spend 1 action to turn on your third die is rough. I recommend something with autothrusters.

Omega Leader is great against plenty of lists, but against JM5Ks I think he chews his food a little too slowly.

I recommend, sir, that you check out my post in the main forum on how to beat them.

Could you give me a link?

Lone Wolf on Vader and he can do alright vs u-boats ;)

The meta changed, Blade!! THE META CHAAANNNGGGEEEED!!!

The key is 3-4 strong PS4 or greater ships (much like your list). Move in fast and focus fire. Then get behind them. Also, they need the action (focus) to do any real damage. Asteroid placement in a cluster could help.

the Inq seems to have quite a bit of game, provided you do the right thing and take PTL for modifiers

Redline, while food for the torpedoes, also completely mulches 1-2 agility with cluster missiles. More than worth trading him with a torpscout. It's points inefficient, but the fact that it leaves only two torpedoes in the list (opponent loses 2 from losing a scout, and then uses 2 to mulch redline) makes it far easier to finish the remaining scouts off with your late game.

fully modified 2-dice PWTs aren't completely harmless, but against PTL thrusters they might as well be :P Just watch for blocks

Im thinking about dropping proton rockets on the inquisitor or vader(not sure which yet) and upgrade omega leader to a palp shuttle. are proton rockets good against large ships in general?

Frankly, it's points EFFICIENT. 35 points on Redline, 33 points on the destroyed Scout, +6 points for the torps spent to kill Redline... And that's IF the first Scout isn't destroyed, or IF you turn over any Direct Hit cards, as Redline is 9 HP and the two remaining Scouts can only deal him 4 points of damage max each.

Ahh, Redline. I'm glad I bought the last Punisher in our store several weeks ago.

Palpshuttle... if you're having a problem with the triple U-Boats is a losing proposition. Unless you upgrade the shuttle he's shooting after the Scouts, it's hard to squeeze enough PS4+ into the list with him in it to beat their PS bid, and IMHO the strongest partner for Palpshuttle (Wampa) isn't much good agin three torp boats.

Though he does require a minimum of 3 torp shots to kill, so there's that. Sensor Jammer makes him even more durable as he can flip dice all day and they spend their Focus to launch missiles - as long as they're not using Protons.

Proton rockets can be worth it, but don't sacrifice your ship! Some people try too hard to get them off early and end up getting the ship killed right after it fires the rockets. This is especially a danger considering how good the u-boats are at blocking (not to mention, getting blocked means you can't fire the proton rockets :( )

I think Defenders will be good in this spot. Glaive Squadron's with Predator and Evade Title should clock in at 35pts, and 36pts with Ion Engine. Predator and the title will still get you great value if you bump, and if you don't bump, the focus token on top is a great bonus. Being bump resistant against those things is huge. The white K-Turn will also be invaluable in that particular match-up. A PS6 Defender won't be the Ace killer that my PS11 Vader was, but it's a super reliable workhorse who's less afraid to get into the thick of it.

Two Blue Squadrons (B-Wing) with FCS and two Blue Squadron Novice (T-70s) with Autothrusters come to exactly 100 points. A decent amount of firepower, and survivability, just need to avoid the ordinance. Low PS is an issue, however.

the list is good, but i am looking for imperial lists that i can use.

Bad idea. You aren't going to be avoiding the scouts in B-wings and X-wings. They will nuke one of your ships before it even fires.

what about juke on the inquisitor. you could target lock then get the evade from the title. this would allow him to get more hits through.

Buffulo herd.

4 space cows with Electronic Baffles. The can burn every torp they have killing 2 shuttles, and the other two still outgun their list.

he'll die to the first torp shot at him with my luck

also, you probably get more damage through the focus modifier than juke

I use a Vader with adaptability, title, atc, and eu

Fell with ptl, title, at, and targeting cpu

Inquisitor with ptl, title, and at

Just stayed out of arc and at range 3 the best I could. Haven't lost yet to them but have made some mistakes with Vader and bumped a time or two and he got wiped off the board.

Take a swarm, eat large ships (best result U-boats can expect is 3 kills with their torpedoes, and those are not guaranteed. Leaves you 4 - 5 + whatever survived the alpha strike to bring them down - not too hard). Ace lists are though then though, but with all the U-boats around Ace lists might become less common.

Sounds promising.

22 Epsilon Leader, Comms Relay,

That gives you 6 tie fighters who all fire before the U-boats. You opening salvo should be impressive (if stressful). You should generate 9 hits which should be enough to kill 1 Scout as you can use your crack shots to cancel his evades. If he spends a focus token to survive, he won't be firing torpedoes that turn.

Either way his return fire will be lucky to kill 2 ties since you will have 3 green dice plus a Focus token from Rage meaning you should be able to manage 2 dodges per ship.

Next turn use Epsilon leader to help clear all those Stress tokens and close to Range 1 where the Scouts' torpedoes won't be able to do much and proceed to pick him apart.

Not looking forward to facing this build with a Decimator, Inquisitor and Omega Leader. I guess I have to hope they burn all their ordnance burning the Decimator down...

what do you put on the Decimator? you probably could do a lot of damage with vader and gunner.
