Hi Everyone,

As this is the first month we are using the new OP site and tournament software, I would like to give everyone a quick rundown of both.

As a player looking for tournaments, all you need to do is go here .

For people who would like to be tournament organizers, please go to this part of the organized play website . Once you have registered, you must fill out a scout application. Once you have been approved as a scout, you will need to submit your venue for approval. Be careful when entering venue information, because you cannot edit this after it's been approved. Now, you can begin registering tournaments.

NOTE : The tournament website will not let you sign up for events after the deadline. Therefore, it is very important you sign up on time. Going forward, there will be no exceptions for people who sign up late. The deadlines are the 16th of the preceding month for international tournaments, and the 18th of the preceding month for domestic tournaments. This ensures that we can get your prize support on time.

Here are some basic directions for using it:

Tourney Magistrate

The tournament magistrate is FFG's intuitive new tournament management system.

Here are the steps to running a tournament with it.

1. Select "New Tournament" from the File menuenu.

2. Select "New Playe"r from the Player menu.

Enter your players First Name, Last Name, Location, and Information.

Location is nice if you run tournaments are venue.

I find that Information is a great place to put each player's character. This way before I cut to top 16 I can drop players who will be cut via diversity.

Once players are in your database, you can double click on them to instantly add them to the tournament.

3. Once all players have been added, select "Match Options" from the Matches menu.

Set Table Size: This is the number of people playing per match.

For everyone standard one on one event this should be 2. Multiplayer tournaments are where table size will be increased.

Then pick your seeding styles. Choose info and instructions, from the matches menu for complete definitions.

The default scoring values are values assigned when you input W for win, T for Tie, B for Bye, and L for Loss.

Autocomplete tables of two means that when you put a W, T or L in the match results for one player at the table, the other player automatically gets the other corresponding result

4. Select "Seed round,"this will assign everyone to a match, and a table.

5. Choose "Open Timer" from the Match menu, and input your round length.

If you are choosing less than an hour, remember to put a 0 in the hour position.

6. Enter the results into the Matches tab.

Enter W (win), T(tie), L(loss), or B (bye) in the appropriate players field.

7. Click "Finish" once all of the matches have been recorded.

8. The program will send you to the player tab. You can sort players by the headings if you click on them.

SoS: is the players Strength of Schedule

Rating: The number of points the player has achieved this tournament.

9. Select "Seed Round" from the Matches menu.

Start the timer and enter in players results.

10. Choose cut to finals from the Matches menu, once you have finished preliminary play.

Enter the number you would like to cut to.

*WARNING* You cannot undo the cut.

11. Select" Seed Round" from the Matches menu.

The program will now switch to the Finals seeding style you selected in Match options.

Continue entering results, seeding the next round until the tournament is over, and a champion can be declared.
