Marcy has Special Modifications...

By Maelora, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

And I love the writing in this thing. Very clever indeed.

"Needless to say, doing so voids the Goo Gun's warrantee"

"Some use this to apply rivets more rapidly to other sentient beings, though all manufacturers consider this to be 'user error'"

"Few technicians can make a coherent case that they legitimately need to be able to bolt hull plates onto a ship at a distance of several meters"

Someone needs to get a raise.

Do anybody say what the ships are?

Not many -

A Baktoid Heavy Work Platform (speeder with a crane)

The Portable Store KRI-80 (Does what it says on the tin)

the Rapid Service Speeder (a Speeder tow truck)

The TRL-03 Skyclaw (a bigger tow truck)

The AD-15 Modular Starfighter (allowing different pods to be installed)

The Cybershop Ship (A small capital ship Cyber Chop Shop)

Th Deep Space Recovery Vessel L-2783 (a Small cap ship salvage platform)

Maelora posted the vehicles, so I saw those, but none of the ships.

I'm also loving table 3-20 crafting sell prices, page 91, for selling and buying.

Selling a commissioned item to a client materials cost + 50% of materials cost; price adjustment for minor improvement (i.e. for each advantage spent during crafting) +5% of materials cost; price adjustment for a major (typo'd as minor) improvement (for each triumph spent during crafting) +10%... which gives you a way to simply price an ion shielded cybernetic arm like the one I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread

Does the book contain rules or at least basic guidelines for salvaging? Or in other words, any rules for using "Uttini!"?

What are the rough guidelines for cybernetics; is it still no check required for installing them, just for manufacturing? Recommendations for required equipment?

That Cybershop Ship sounds fun, so many campaign ideas from that... Nemesis Doctor Dark Side Force User creating abominations :)

If only I had time to play Fallout 4 :(

Ha, nice, that works quite well.

Onto the Modder, how many "increase Sig Vehicle Silhouette" talents are there? Are there any new Sig vehicle talents not seen in Rigger? What other ranked sig vehicle talents are there? Basically just how far can a dedicated Rigger/Modder push the party's ship?

If installing cybernetics on droids, does it still require a Medicine roll? Would a droid working on itself only increase difficulty once (as with repairing itself)?

I think I would be happy with that, makes sense.

Besalisks: Multiple arms gives them one more free maneuver per turn to maximum of 2.

Aw, MAN. They coped out.

I much prefer the Ability they got for the NPC Besalik Adventurer in Force and Destiny.

This is just a reprint of the 4 arm ability Xexto have.

<_<

Okay, I'm just going through the gear - I haven't looked at the rest of the tome - that section alone is worth picking up the book! I am SO putting All-Terrain Legs on the ship and then slaving it to an on-board AI.

***EDIT***

Wait - to hell with putting legs on my freighter! I'm building myself a Veritech Fighter out of an X-Wing!

(subtitle: a Veritech from the anime series Robotech/Macross, that looks like a fighter jet with legs and arms and a big rifle)

...you have my attention...

Definitely agree there.

I don't. I'm glad FFG opted to go for a baseline in regards to 4 arm races. For those of us that home brew races it makes balancing much more straightforward.

Any chance we could get a photo of the Cyber Tech tree?

I posted what the rules say about installing cybernetics... besides the bit about the custom skill cybernetics being an allowed alternative to medicine and mechanics when cybernetics are involved... so I would say use mechanics and only upgrade once... but that's my personal ruling not something that I read in the book (not saying for sure that it's not in there only that if it is I haven't seen it yet)

And here's the Droid tech as a free bee

Edit: the first Droid tech photo was blurry, here's a clearer replacement

You know, you might not want to post full on pictures of copyrighted material. FFG might get a bit tetchy at that.

Btwe that's why I haven't posted any tables or photos of the artwork... personally, my favorite pieces are Han and chewie in space suits working on the exterior hull of I think the falcon while in space (page 73), and I think the female oriental tech in partial armor (page 70) is pretty sweet to.

Wow, there's some fantastic builds there, a Tactician Droid Tech build definitely comes to mind with all those ranks of speaks binary.

The Modder basically has Sig Vehicle to add 2 hard points to it! That's a huge amount of the tree for that, but such good synergy with the Rigger in a longer running campaign. Probably a great second spec for Artisan, Armour, Gadgeteer and obviously mechanic or outlaw tech.

And a Droid Cyber Tech/Modder is my new favourite character... Until the next career supplement comes out!

Speaking of pictures...

You don't have to post pics, but what are the three characters for each new spec? A rough description.

Would the cyberneticist talent stack? Would two ranks in it decrease the cost to 25% of the original?
