Dengar and R5-P8 windows.

By Koing907, in X-Wing

So, let's say I'm running Dengar with R5-P8. An enemy attacks. I have Dengar's ability to fire back after the attack, and I have R5-P8's ability to roll a dice and maybe do a damage after the attack.

Both trigger after the enemy attacks. Do I choose one or the other, or do both trigger? Since neither card says "Immediatley", I figure I'd get both, but wanted to ask the board.

Both ability has the same timing window. You can activate one or both of them, and you can choose which one to activate first.

Either DERP a fat target with a droid to clear a shield and then hope for a crit

or shoot with dengar first, and if target lives, but is on the brink of land of eternal hunt, DERP with a droid.

Okay, here's one for ya! If another PS9 ship with Initiative, shoots Dengar and destroys him, does Dengar get to return fire, then perform his normal attack, then gets destroyed? If Dengar had the Initiative in this scenario, I *think* he'd miss out on his return fire! I think that's correct, just an odd one!

Pretty much correct. If Dengar has initiative and already shot, he'd be removed as soon as he took fatal damage and wouldn't get ar evenge shot. If the opponent has initiative, dengar isn't removed until after he gets his normal combat activation, so he should get to do his revenge shot (and droid if he's got it), then take his normal shot,t hen be removed from the board.

I believe that the wording "after Defending" would mean dengar gets his revenge attack as he is not destroyed until after "after attacking" see valen rudor for similar wording.

After defending and after attacking both happen after the entire attack is resolved (which includes taking dmaage cards). Valen rudor wouldn't get a free action if he was destroyed either.
