At first I was firmly in the 5-6 product "camp". But now, after reading the whole release, I'm thinking the GR-75 and Gozer might be the whole show. And that rocks!

Why do I think that? Being able to repair that one disastrous crit Donna/Luke/APT dealt your flag ship, pretty sweet. Or moving a Gozer in to support your assault, nice. Basically, FFG has just given us a $20.00 wave that changes the meta. Now, maybe they didn't mean to, but I'll take it.

But why? Is it part of an over all plan, I doubt it, the orphan product numbers would indicate two releases that didn't make it to "press time". And that is a good sign, rather than shove crap out the door, they are willing to wait to get it right. I do hope to see the phantom products in wave 4, I hope one of them is the Interdictor ship I think it is.

In seriousness though, the thought also occured to me that maybe those two ghost numbers just didnt get balanced right. And I would also rather they not drop a hammer on the delicate balance of this game, which is in a pretty good place right now.

I would rather get 2 good units than 4 mediocre ones. And these are beyond good... they offer abilities and upgrades that will change the strategy of the game. I'll take quality over quantity any day.

These two alone will make the "auto demolisher death" much less likely and allow for squad based fleets to put up a credible defense to the super activation swarm with their own super activation counter SQUADRON swarm...

If we seem a 4th wave before the end of the year, I would be okay with the little waves.

The Mouse seems determined to add movies to the pantheon at a brisk rate. Between new movies each year, supplemented by cartoons, I think FFG will get enough new source material to go forward with in the future.

But right now I think the picking are a little sparse. Unless they want to go into the dark pit of the EU, someplace that I think they should attempt to stay out of as much as possible.

You do realize that the AFMK II, GSD, & Raider are not Canon ships. Even the MC30 is a tough call, as it came from the RotJ concept art, but never appeared in a Canon source. Cool and functionality trump Canon for ships.

There are at least a dozen Canon ships that could be included.

There ya go, 3 waves of ships right there. Point is, with only 5/9 of the ships in Armada actually being Canon, FFG is going to balence how well it will fit in the game and how well it will sell, over "is it canon?"

I believe that we are looking at a game was was in development pre Mouse, and so that is why you see some of what you see. Same with in Xwing. And that is fine.

Hopefully these ships get made cannon. Do a write in campaign to Rebels. They could use some Raiders to fight against.
