Attachment Idea: Precision Actuator Module

Hey friends! This just hit while I was working today and I figured I'd share the idea! All critiques are welcome.

Precision Actuator Module

*fluff text*

Effect: -1 damage. +2 pierce.

Mods: 2 +1 pierce mods. 1 +1 accuracy mod.

HP: 1

Cost: 500 ranged light, 1000 ranged heavy.

So that's it! I've been thinking through possible problems with it, whether it's prices right, or if there are ways to break it, and so far, seems pretty legit!

Might give it to a player on a modded Dragoon next week for loot (our Jedi got a lightsaber...had to get the others something nice ;D)!

Edit: wait, the BAM had a couple pierce mods right? Hmm, maybe I'll have to add vicious to the mod options for this. Or perhaps one more accuracy mod.

Depending on the soak of the opponent, 1 pierce is roughly equivalent to 1 damage. I would make the base mode -1/+1 with the modification options to additional pierce.

Conversely, I might suggest changing it so that the base attachment just offers Pierce 1, with mods for two additional Pierce qualities and then the Accurate quality

In that vein, I would also suggest upping the cost of the attachment, probably an even 1000 credits for both pistols and rifles, as well as increasing the HP requirement to 2. Pierce can be quite useful, especially for weapons with a lower damage rating as it improves the chances of getting some amount of damage through, and makes high-damage weapons even more potent as you're getting what equates to free damage. Plus the already existing weapon attachments that add to a weapon's damage, which when stacked with this can lead to some real monsters, such as a blaster rifle with this and the augmented spin barrel.

I'm hesitant to make an attachment with no benefits right out the bat. So the -1/+2 feels right. I had some idea that maybe it would help curtail auto-fire a bit, but now I'm not sure and think that soak is applied to every hit? In that case, it wouldn't matter. Hmm.

Anyway, good suggestions Dono! I would be sad to make it 2 HP, but the combos could get rather silly. It is effectively bonus damage, but also that's another reason to leave the -1 in there...because when your pierce starts exceeding soak, you lose that extra sauce, whereas +1 damage is always better.

Also, compared to the BAM, it feels similar enough to do a single HP...or perhaps just drop it to pistols. Another idea was to make it medium range only? But then again that goes against the feel of a precision weapon. :/
