I played in a store championship at the weekend with a Fel, Vader, OL list and despite the fact that I am a mediocre pilot at best, I managed a respectable 9th place. I'm now toying with the idea of swapping OL for the Inquisitor for my next tournament.

I like the idea of running the Inquisitor as a sniper at range 3 while Fel and Vader do their thing. He's not as survivable as OL but I think he might be able to punch through a bit more damage in the long run.

Help me make a decision o wise ones!

flown with the 31 point ptl, title, AT, the inquisitor can be very formidable. I personally like him more than OL, Its like having Fel and Fel Lite on the board.

Both are very solid pieces. The question comes down to "what do you want out of them"

Inquisitor can be that longer range attacker while OL is a much stronger late game threat. I'd run with the Inquisitor, but that's just because he is new and you already ran a tourney with OL. Try them both, and revisit places where one of them shone stronger than the other.

Dump one of the big cheeses and take both.

One is for long range DPS. The other is for countering modification heavy aces. Which does your list need?

The Inquisitor is basically what you get if you put Omega L and Soontir on opposite ends of a scale and try to find something perfectly inbetween

imo, there's not enough info to really determine when to take one over the other except in very specific circumstances. It'll probably come down to who you have more fun with

the very specific circumstances in which you take one over the other, as far as I can tell

• Omega L: you hate small #s of lower health aces
• Inq: you simply need more dice to tackle chuncky lists like triple Scouts

Leaning more in the direction of the Inquisitor as I feel I might need the added firepower to deal with some tanky lists at the tournament.

Plus I really want to try him out.

Why not both?

I currently run:

Inquisitor (PTL, Title, Autothrusters)

Omega Leader (Juke, Comm Relay)

Wampa

Palpmobile

With Palpatine backup, the Inquisitor is just as hard to hit as Fel, but hits a lot harder and more consistently with TL+Focus.

The list works by having an answer to every matchup it could have.

2 ship build? Keep OL alive until you kill one and now he's unbeatable 1v1.

PWT? Inquisitor will stay at Range 3 and burn you down while evading everyshot.

Aces/Phantom? Wampa is going to lay the hurt on you.

Rebel Regen? Can't regen hull.

And of course the Emperor is there as the ultimate backup.
