I love this game

It may be my favorite game ever

Most of that is because of this community

I mean how awesome is it that the people who play this game naturally just refer to themselves as pilots

And when we play a list or ship we often say things like "I'm flying this list" or "flying this ship"

I love this community because it's filled with wonderful nerds

So what's your favorite part of xwing? Or the community?

For me it's the terminology we all seem to use without even thinking about it

OP, you've basically described everything we love about X-Wing.

I used to be a competitive PC gamer. Then I took an arrow to the knee came to a realization that offline, physical games are just better in every sense. You chat with friends you spend quality time with them rather than going teamspeak and start cursing your opponents incessantly. The experience is just that much more intimate and engaging.

On a separate topic, this is the first (and likely the last) time I've ever burned a thousand dollars in a single game. Within four months from the first time I heard about it no less. I mean, who can resist the thought of owning and piloting these beautifully sculpted ships really?

I often refer to getting games for practice as "flight time". i.e. "I don't feel good about my chances this weekend because I haven't had enough flight time." X-Wingers don't bat an eye, but even super nerds from other gaming circles immediately call me out as a nerd

Yeah, my brother and I are pilots. People just look at us funny and slowly walk away when we start to talk about the meta. We also refer to the ships as they would "behave" and how badly we piloted whatever list.

Yeah, it's a great community, like how JBR7 calls everyone starbrother.

It has been my experience that everyone I have played a game with has been friendly and helpful, especially when I was new to the game.
