I have problems comparing Ghost and Falcon

By Hexdot, in X-Wing

I am a little confused after comparing these two. Same Faction, 360 degree firing (Falcon) vs 4 red, large ships. Ghost more Hull, more Shields, two crew options, two torpedo slots, Evade capable. Agi cero, inferior dial.

4 Red. And cheaper. I think.I miss something. Why a Ghost is Cheaper than a Falcon?

Ghost has no primary turret.

Edit: Apparently a 3 attack PWT is big deal, the Punishing One title costs 12 pts.

The Ghost also has a worse dial and worse PS overall.

This. To get secondary turret you must spend 20-28 more points for shuttle.

Yes, the 360 degree Falcon's guns must be costly, but you can mount a TLT in the Ghost and, more or less, pair respective costs. My Ghost has not arrived yet. Can you equip a turret with no shuttle?

How so? The PS3 Lothal Rebel with no pilot ability or EPT costs 41 with a TLT, almost the same as Chewbacca.

No turret for once.

No EPT.

Zero Agility.

Worse Dial.

Max PS7.

You can, but then you're not using that 4-dice primary. TLT doesn't work within the range 1 donut hole and is capped at 2 damage, and also blows the cost of the ship up past the cost of a Falcon. Blaster, Dorsal and Ion Turrets can't shoot at range 3 and also have various restrictions that cap their potential damage output and reliability. AB Turret is only 2 dice and capped at range 1.

The Ghost can also offset their firing arcs by taking torpedoes to shoot out the aft, but those probably want Guidance Chips, which means you don't have an Engine Upgrade for your large-based ship.

A VCX is more like a Brobot than a falcon.

VCX is like a firespray in my experience.

No PWT makes them completely different beasts. It's like comparing the ORS and the Lambda.

This is wonderful!

Depends on your build. Fcs untitled VCX works a lot like brobots. Titled is more like firespray (though you get the turret double tap too)

Now, FCS and Hera crew makes play like you see in the show...

I am incensed by the existence of Rebels and even I am excited by the crazy weirdness of this ship. It's cheaper than the Falcon because it doesn't benefit from an elite slot, have as nice a dial, or have the advantage of a PWT.

It's gonna be fun, especially when it's painted CorSec green and grey.

Thanks, guys. My Ghost will arrive...tomorrow
