Boba Fett / Ghost - Phantom

By joliversc, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If the Boba Fett crew is activated when it scores a critical hit on the Ghost, can he destroy a docked Phantom's title card?

I would think not because the Phantom is a second ship but I figure the question is worth asking.

I don't think so. The faq has stated that you can discard the ghost though. Meaning the phantom cannot deploy

No, because you're attacking the Ghost at that point, not the Phantom. You could use Boba though to get rid of the Ghost title, then they would only be able to deploy when the Ghost has been destroyed.

Per rules on docked ships, "Docked ships (and their equipped upgrade cards) are placed to the side of the play area, and are considered to be inactive for all purposes..."

No targeting of anything on the Shuttle.

There's also a special FAQ entry on Boba Fett forbidding this exact thing (unfortunately?)

The question that came up for me the other day however, is does the phantom title card lose its ability as well? The Phantom title explicitly mentions the Ghost, but the VCX is no longer the Ghost...

The TO in my case ruled that no, the VCX could no longer double tap etc but I'm curious if anything has been officially ruled on this (as considering I was the Ghost player it would be good to know one way or another)

The Phantom title card requires a ship with the Ghost title card to work. It would be like Baba Fett stripping the IG-2000 card from an Aggressor.

I don't know of an official ruling on it though.

I'd argue it would lose the double tap but in most cases you'd be better off taking the turret away anyway.

They'd also lose the 4/5 dice primary attack out the backend.

Yeah, that's true - it really depends whether you think it's easier to dodge an arc or a turret. Personally with most of my lists I prefer the latter; playing aces a lot means that it's very much preferable to rip off the range 1 turret.
