Scyk Tractor Pull

Tansarii Point Veteran + Adaptability (+1) + Heavy cannon title + Tractor Beam (20)

Kavil + Adaptability (-1) + Dorsal Turret + Agromech

The idea being the Scyks all do their thing first, trying to move the target into Range 1 of the other shooters or lowering its agility. Then Kavil rolls 3 or 4 dice for his turret depending on the range. I worry the Scyks might be a little squishy, but I've got 11 points left to play with (Stealth maybe?). Or is the whole thing just too one-trick pony-ish?

Interesting, what about 2 Tansarii's with that load out along with 3 thugs with auto blasters turrets and the BTL- A-4 title. The scyk's pull an enemy ship into range 1 of the Y's, while lowering it's agility, and the Y's light it up. Competitive, probably not, but I'm definitely trying it next league night.

Gut feeling would say that 2 Scyks might be already eating enough points, and can still pull some things off, they are quite maneuvrable.

3 of them are already 60pts, a bit much, as they only have 2att when not tractor pulling. And tractor pulling means no damage by themselves.

That's what I'm worried about. Kavil has the potential to hit hard, but he's all that's hitting.

I just really like the Scyk model and want to find some use for it...

I have never gotten the M3-A's to work. The only way I could think of using them is in a swarm formation like TIE's but there is very little synergy (I think only one ship and it's 20 points base I think (Serissu).

If your opponent sees you using multiple tractor beams he'll just keep himself outside 2 or so if he's a decent pilot since you can only pull a ship once per round. I thought of this build also, desperately trying to make the Syck fighter useful, but the Beam can't pull a ship across the starfield into one if they are outside two to begin with. Then they'll just fly behind the enemy ship(s) arc-dodging or K-Turn and he's got you.

I wish there was something out there that could make the M3-A's useful.

Kavil won't benifit from the tractor beams as he will fire first.

He has Pilot skill 7(6 with adaptability) the sycks will have ps5 and tractor tokens are all removed in the end phase so he won't use the -1agility.

Just curious, with 3 tractor beams, you are planning to just be able to move your opponents ship once and then stack -1 agility on them? And then... what shoots at the target?

It would really be nice if tractor beams allowed each ship to move an opponent so you could isolate a single ship, but they knew what we would do and put in wording...

The Scyks all have Adaptability +1. Everybody on the list is PS 6, so I get to decide the order they shoot in. So the Scyks go first with the tractors and then Kavil.

That's the real hindrance to the tractor beam; you need someone shooting early for the -1 agility to kick in, but someone shooting early you'd rather have taking a real shot. So I looked at a way to get a decent ace shooting at or after the PS of the tractor beam carriers.

Missed the adaptability on the scyks!!

I really like manglers on the scyks it's not that competative but it is fun to fly.

I usually run

Latts razzi, k4 security droid, engine upgrade (40)40

3x cartel spacer, title, mangler cannon (20) 60

You've got a great idea with Tractoring people closer to range 1, but everyone is missing the option to tractor people backwards off a block.

I am hoping for something like:

Tansarii Point Veteran x2 (21 x2)

Crack Shot

Heavy Scyk

Tractor Beam

Gand Findsman x2 (29 x2)

Crack Shot

Enhanced Scopes

Outlaw Tech

You can run them in pairs, or a clump of all four. I thought about intelligence agent, but without re-positioning on the blockers it may not be super useful. (You could go Intel agent Mist Hunter on one g-1A, but that means buying three for the tractor beams).

Block someone, so they don't get an action, then barrel roll them backwards into the firing arc of the ship they just hit. You have a modified 4 dice attack (range 1) and a crack shot on the Findsmen even if they take the red maneuvers, which should be darn good damage on an actionless target.

Alternatively, give all four adaptability to save four points and then both G-1As can take Feedback array for large base ships you can't move with a tractor beam.
