Wave 3 is garbage: good time to rage-quit?

By dmgcontrol, in Star Wars: Armada

So I've been sitting around this last year painting my Old Republic Shapeways ships, and recently I've been waiting to be sure the Venator doesn't get a model this upcoming Wave 3 so I can buy some more from Shapeways. But Wave 3 is basically nothing? And I waited a year for that?

Battlefleet Gothic Armada comes out in a matter of days, and in the few hours I've played it it has been extremely fun. While Star Wars Armada, being the 3rd best selling miniature game, gets jack?

Why should one keep playing a game that has no releases?

Is there still an expectation of the rest of wave 3 being revealed within the next week or two? I want to believe.

The only reasonable course of action is to throw all your figures away and then post about it. Repeatedly.

*sighs* And just when I thought we were done with these threads...

Don't throw them away, at least put them on ebay so the rest of us can use them!

Why should one keep playing a game that has no releases?

This has to be the dumbest statement so far in that matter.

I send you my address to send all your stuff to. I'll pay the shipping.

:D

I bought a Venator and I run it as a victory carrier...

Like a boss.

I'll send him my address to send his stuff to. You can still pay the shipping!

From now on, anyone threatening to ragequit Armada must be said to be "pulling an AdmiralNelson"

or "ArmiralNelsoning"

In common usage "I just rolled 5 damage on a demolisher double arc, I'm AdmiralNelsoning this game, you win"

This has to bee the dumbest statement so far in that matter.

I think it could bee dumber if I really tried.

"Did you hear about Bob, he was so buthurt he Admiral Nelsoned"

"Aww no way, can I have his stuff?"

"Nah, he dmgcontrolled it"

So you'll talk about resigning then start 5 new games all at once?

Why is everyon saying "I waited a year for *this*?!?!"

The entire game has only been out for a year.

Wave 2 got released in what...November/December?? So it's been 4 months since we got new toys.

which would be relevant if wave three were out right now not "in development"

From announcement to announcement and release to release it will be a year.

If you can't understand why people are disappointed that after a full development cycle that usually yields between 5 and 6 SKUs (not only for this game but for x-wing etc) we are getting 2 small based ships with tiny unimpressive models then you might be missing some of the picture.

I'm seriously disappointed as well and have explained why at length elsewhere, but I am not "AdmiralNelsoning" the game. I still love it, I think the new ships will be great and add a lot of flavour, but I reserve the right to be disappointed at the clear withdrawal of resources FFG perpetrated from this game.

To be honest. I am more upset that it will most likely be at least another year before we get anything more substantial that the flotillas. I love the flotilla concept, Give me a Neb B flotilla for sure, But I would still like to see more medium and small ships for the Imperials and Rebels.

I could always do house rules to change things up some more, but just waiting to see how influential the flotillas will be. They are really squishy and can be killed easy is all.

I understand the initial disappointment, but when you start actually looking at the release, this is a huge game changer. And they did it cheap for the customer. That's a win-win. I find these rage-quit threads hilarious, especially when someone mentions Gothic's upcoming re-release in the same breath. Enjoy what is almost certain to be hot garbage rules and crap support from a company that cares even less about their customers. Say what you will about FFG's support for Armada, but don't you compare it to GW. They actually HAVE dropped a major game.

Several, only to replace them with hot steamy turds in snazzy new packaging, with a similar name! GW should be charged with War Gaming Crimes and boycotted by all civilized gamers.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada is a computer game ...

How does this compare to a miniatures game?

Besides I would love Battlefleet Gothic as a miniatures game by FFG ...
