I posted this thought in the Armada group also. How could Wraith Squadron make an effective appearance in X-wing?
Where is Wraith Squadron?
Well, they don't exist any more, so don't get your hopes up...
so idk much about Wraith squadron, but I did skim wookiepedia ![]()
so apparently there's a StealthX?
"A modification of the already formidable T-65XJ3 X-wing starfighter, the StealthX had a star-flecked body of irregular, matte-black fiberplast that rendered it almost invisible against a background of stars. The third torpedo launcher had been replaced by a gravitic modulator designed to defeat mass-detectors, and its shields had been downgraded to make room for a suite of sensor negators.
The standard proton torpedoes were often replaced with the custom-made Jedi shadow bombs, if they were available. The StealthX could also carry glop bombs, which released a quick-hardening foam upon detonation, and two-stage armor-piercing bunker-buster bombs. The advanced R9-series astromech droids were assigned to assist the pilots with the special requirements of this unique craft."

ooooooooooo man, I want these in game
Stealth X
- Modification (apparently they were more lightly armored, but lopping of a shield or hull turns the X into an A. So instead, we are removing integrated or thrusters; keeps Poe in check)
- Add bomb slot (hell to the HELL yes! finally will put that torp slot to good use, extra munitions)
- After you execute a maneuver at speed 3 or greater, you may assign a Cloak token to your ship
ladies and gents, prepare for shenanigans!
T-70s with cloaking T-rolls that can be followed up by r2 manuevers
X-wings that can drop seismic charges after having decloaked (or not; choice is theirs!)
fun for the whole family! (not the empire)
(also, though they're not canon, Disney can always steal them back right?)
Edited by ficklegreendiceI'm laughing at people obsessing over "does it exist" as though Star Wars is a Real Place with Real Things.
Im here but not very effective. Just an average x winger.
Try doing something without Disney or George's approval and see how real it gets.
Well they can do whatever without George's approval and Disney seems fine with dredging the old EU for whatever's needed as long as it doesn't involve constraining future stories. Two of the ships released this wave are pure old EU.
Plenty of the stuff coming out still is legends/noncanon so anything is possible.
Give me Piggy or give me....something else!

You could at least bring pilots into play. And I'll take a Night Caller title card for my corvette and a mine-laying retrofit card.
Reading that made me think lop a shield off, add one agility, so it's 3/3/2/2, but you lose the torp slot for a system slot, and they have a mod only they can take (maybe must take?) which discards all red target locks in the end phase (nice soft counter to ATC, OL, FCS, Vessery, Bossk crew, etc).
So yeah, it's a similar stat to the A-Wing, but a different role for sure.
give me keetch yub nub

If we can have Talonbane cobra, we can have Piggy, damnit.

bleck that's no fun
I like the bomb and all, but just you're going to end up with a crappier phantom with just that ![]()
I feel the cloak has to be free, so long as we don't repeat the mistake of ACD (Hence post maneuver; before attack opportunity)
Edited by ficklegreendiceI wouldn't equate stealth with cloaking though.
Nor would I. That's why I suggested lose a shield to gain agility, and lose torpedoes to gain a system slot. It changes the role, and the toolkit, hugely. I was looking at it as it's own ship, but if it's a title, I think that mod I mentioned could be made the astro instead; that'd curtail shenanigans with regen aces a tad.

Stealth-X you cannot be targeted or effected by any pilot/card abilities at range 3. You get plus one agility when defendimg at range 2...
Say a 3 point title.
Why not just give Stealth-X basically free autothrusters. The reason is different, but the game effect sounds fitting to stealth ships. Though preventing target locks at range 3 as additional effect would be very handy and very fitting as well.
What if they could never be target locked at any range?
Why not just get a T65, give it a stealth device, and choose your pilots/eqpt?
If we can have Talonbane cobra, we can have Piggy, damnit.
Nice.
Thematically though I always thought his ability would be.
"At the beginning of the combat phase Piggy may spend a focus token. If he does another friendly ship may perform a free barrel roll or boost action."
He was always monitoring the whole battle while he flew.
Why not just get a T65, give it a stealth device, and choose your pilots/eqpt?
Not very exciting, but is perfectly reasonable.
