Just started wondering, trying to go to sleep last night. In the books, Chewie owes Han a life debt, which he later extends to Han's wife and children.

After Chewie makes the final sacrifice, his children arrive toadvise they have taken up the debt.

Now, without wanting to reproduce and spoilers, (still not seen Force Awakens myself) what happens when someone protected by life debt kill someone else protected by same life debt? Any suggestions?

I would imagine that such a tradition was flexible enough that the debter could choose which side in the conflict to support, if they were unable to bring it to peaceful resolution.
