Huge Ships: What is the scale?

By Pewpewpew BOOM, in X-Wing

As I recall, the fighters in this game are 1/270 scale.

I don't see a scale referrenced in the FFG write ups on huge ships.

Is seem to remember it being 1:400, but maybe it varies from ship to ship?

I don't know if the huge ships are in a consistent scale. I believe they were designed to be "playable". There's either an old thread or an old interview where their size was discussed but I don't know where to find it.

A Question of Scale

The Tantive IV and Rebel Transport will be the first X-Wing starships released outside of the game’s 1/270 scale. Simply too big to function in the game at that scale, they left us with two options. We could change their scale, or we could leave them out of the game. In the end, we decided these ships were simply too iconic and exciting to ignore, and we invented a new “relative” scale, carefully balancing each ship's playability against its presence on the table. This means you’ll have even more options for your games. You can continue to focus on dogfights and Standard tournament play at 1/270 scale, and you gain the option to play these huge ships in Cinematic Play and the new Epic tournament format.

Seems like it's variable.

It's a sliding scale. The Raider and CR90 I think are 1/400, the GR-75 a little less so. The Gozanti is 1/270 though.

I think this is the article I mentioned. Thanks for finding it. Nothing worse than doubting your own sanity.

FFG have previously described huge ships as being scaled to 'feel' (as in they feel right, even though they are significantly smaller than 1:270).

Can't remember where, but someone worked out a rough size for some of the Huge ships done to 1:270. I think that the Tantive was around 5 feet long...

the gonzi and the raider are 1/270 the transport is 1/403 and the corvette is 1/464.
