Double Firespray SC List

By Guardiandevil, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm goiing to attend a SC tournament end of march. What bugs me, is the fact that each round will be only 60 min.

I planed to bring a 4-5 green squads, but I'm afraid they might lack the firepower to do some harm within 60 min while beeing quite squishy themselves.

So I came up with these double Firespray SCUM lists:

Version 1:

Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38)
Expert Handling (2)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Stay On Target (2)
Navigator (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 99

Version 2:

Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38)
Expert Handling (2)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Expert Handling (2)
Seismic Charges (2)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 99

What do you think?

I would take 4-5 greens over 2 firesprays :)

Why expert handling? They suck. Or you are just afraid of new ordnance meta, thats the only reason to take em. I would swap for VI or PTL, especially on Firespray with K4.

Overall i noticed you have many things to...well...correct player mistakes: navigator, intel, stay on target...A bit more trust in yourself ;) If you are not confident about keeping them in arc i suggest HotShot Blaster on one rather then things listed above. My go2 with double firesprays would be:

Boba +VI,EU,Dengar(if you have him, recspec if you dont),HotShot Blaster

Kath +PtL,EU,K4,Glitters

Can't use wave 8 stuff 'cause of release date (min 2 weeks ahead of tournament).

At my last tournament I got some problems with high PS arc dodgers (phantoms, Soontir, etc.). Couldn't keep them in arc. That's the thought behind intel agend and exp handling. Both Firesprays benefit from if not depend on good positioning (rear arc; range 1), so I thought possibilities to reposition would be a good choice.

What do you think about the A-Swarm and the 60 min limit per game?

Why not take off expert handling in place of videos plus tractor beams that way you can barrel roll an arc dodger into your other arc or else reduce their agility and shoot first.Having played with expert handling found it of little use. Also you could try advanced sensors to take an action first including things like proximity mines.

@Tractorbeam: can't use wave 8 stuff

@ Advanced sensors: last time I checked the firespray didn't have a system upgrade slot

I've been running dual scumsprays for a few weeks in casual, and have been loving it. I've been using Boba with K4, Slave I, Extra Munitions, Seismic Charges, Concussion Missles, and Outmaneuver; Kath Scarlett with VI, Andastra, Cluster Missiles, Seismic Charges x2. I'll probably drop Fett's ordinance loadout soon, as it's not really doing much for me with the Slave I title, and I can't seem to bring myself to putting Fett in the Andastra and Scarlett in the Slave, though maybe I should??

How about Version 3?

Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38)
Push the Limit (3)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Recon Specialist (3)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 99

Version 3 IMO.

But dont get me wrong: handling is just 1 action that gives you stress. naaaaaaaahh.

Navigator: unless on VIed Boba, soontir gonna move after you, so do phantom, so it wont give you anything.

Intel: same thing, you just go eu, he got eu,br and moves after you. If he can arc dodge you he will anyway.

Thats why VI to move after him is more the way to go, and PtL to just stay away, tank yourself up with tokens and be happy. I will again suggest HotShot if you are afraid of arc dodging. Its 1 use but it can change much.

Ok so I tested Version 3 yesterday and I have to say Kath was a blast, but I got some problems with Boba, especially with close quarter fights and action economy.

So I came up with version 4:

Firespray-31: · Kath Scarlet (38)

Push The Limit (3)

Engine Upgrade (4)

K4 Security Droid (3)

Glitterstim (2)

Firespray-31: · Emon Azzameen (36)

Cluster Mines (4)

Engine Upgrade (4)

Bombardier (1)

· Slave I (0)

Glitterstim (2)

Extra Munitions (2)

-- TOTAL ------- 99/100p. --

Any suggestions?

Boba Fett (39)

  • Veteran Instincts (1)
  • Engine Upgrade (4)
  • Gunner (5)

= 49 pts

Kath Scarlet (38)

  • Push The Limit (3)
  • Proximity Mines (3)
  • Engine Upgrade (4)
  • K4 Security Droid (3)

= 51 pts

This version of Boba is self-sufficient. You can take evade actions without guilt, maintaining strong offensive presence while Kath aims her rear at your targets.

Kath works on burst damage with Mines and has loads of action-economy. Simple and effective.

I ran Boba with Tractor beam, VI, Tactician, Glitters and EU (48)
and Emon with Bombadier, EU, Cluster Mines, Cluster Missiles, Slave I and Extra Munitions. (52)

I did very well in two games especially with a 2 range mine drop, rear arc fire and then tractored into the mines. Now I know you can't use Tractor but I can see the list being just as viable without it, and gains a 1 pnt bid.

I like Kath though, and a Kath Emon list might work too, I just like Boba's ability too much to make that switch.

Finaly I ran this build and placed 3rd out of 16.:

Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38)
Push the Limit (3)
Proximity Mines (3)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Gunner (5)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 100

I like it!

Just a food for thought, how bout Adaptability on Boba and Cluster mines on Kath

What tournament are you headed to in SC? Im from the charlotte area.

What about this one:

Boba Fett (51) - Firespray-31

Predator (3), Tractor Beam (1), Tactician (2), Glitterstim (2), Engine Upgrade (4)

Kath Scarlet (49) - Firespray-31

Predator (3), Tactician (2), Glitterstim (2), Engine Upgrade (4)

My idea is action denial instead of action economy. Tacticians are super strong since new faq if I'm guessing correctly. I badly need predators for some rerolls at least.
