Ghost package missing the Dial 'hubs'

By Kamicosmos, in X-Wing

Picked up my Ghost today. Set it up to take some pictures of course. Later on, I went to put the cards in my book, assemble the dials, and....where's the little black hub thingies? Searched the house and car, no-where to be found.

Asked on my local group FB, and at least one other is missing those parts. I'll contact FFG about it. I guess it's good the fancy new dial holders will be available soon. (supposedly in a week or two.)

So....anyone else missing those? (And anyone know what they're officially called for when I contact FFG?)

When you're filling out the Damaged/Missing Components Request Service, I think that's the "Plastic Rivets" component (someone correct me if I'm wrong!).

Strange problem to have, good thing I have a few extras, when I got the large ships I never put together the 5 distance shooting gauge, just have been using a plastic one, so two extras. If you're in a bind maybe pull another dial apart you never use until you get the replacement.

There's a plastic one?

If you don't want to wait go to a hardware store and ask for a sex screw. Yeah, I know it sounds strange but that's the only term I've ever heard used. The female side has a short barrel with internal threads and a flat, slightly rounded blank head. The male portion has a typical slightly rounded screw head with an externally threaded shaft.

It's best if you find an older gent to help rather than a younger salesperson. It saves on apologies, red faces and explanations.

ACE or HANDYMAN would be the best places to check. You should find them in the little pull-out drawers where they sell one off screws, washers etc.

Good advice! I'll be near an ACE nuts & bolts store today, so I'll grab a couple of those. In fact, that might be a cool way to retro-fit all my dials for easy ID at games....

Not got Ghost yet, but recently bought the YT2400 and had the same problem. Had a few spares so advised the seller and left it there.

It's all a conspiracy to get you to buy the new maneuver dial upgrade kits!!! :P

I'd be having a hard time not to laugh when I ask the employee at the hardware-store for something called a 'sex screw' while using the words 'head' and 'shaft' in the same sentence...

And yes.. I'm 34...

I on the other hand would welcome such an opportunity and would make it sound as dirty as possible.

Yeah, I have a 5 distance gauge from Litko.

Can print one out if your local library has a free printer (mine does).

As would I. Life is much more fun that way!

if the clerk at the store dosn't know what youre talking about, call them binding posts or chicago screws. those are other names for that product.

Excellent! I knew there had to be a formal name for the little buggers. Never could find a picture in Machinery Handbook or Mark's. Thank you!

Cool!

I wonder if they ship to sweden... and if it's worth the shipping cost :/
