The FLGS got their Regionals kit in today.

The prize support all looks very good. I thought that the tokens looked better in person. The Ackbar card is really nice, much like Tarkin and Mothma.

I may have to attend two regionals to try for 2 sets of dice.

So, you Store-Championship winners are going to have to choose between a 7-point bye or to play the first round? I think you're better off not taking the bye.

Thought the Bye was an 8-2?

There were instructions on registering people with the Bye cards that simply said they get a standard bye per the normal tournament rules.

Personally, I'd use mine if the tournament was over 3 rounds. In a 3 round tournament I would just go ahead and play.

It was, but the new 'Tournament Regulations' changed it to 7TP/129NoV.

It's all good. Though someone did mention sometimes the "bye" is a super bye with a prize. Do we know if the store champ bye for regionals is the 8-2. Or? Just curious.

Also, opinions on playing versus taking the bye?

It is a standard bye according to the Event Outline included in the kit.

So, its not bad on Points, but its a Penalty (somewhat) on Margin of Victory, which is a Tiebreaker...

So, basically.. It is a straight up 8-2 win.

But its NOT as good as going out to earn an 8-2 Win, which would inherently have a better MoV.

I like that.

Regarding the prizes, I'm actually starting to jones for the acrylic setup markers and the special dice.

Good Vader willing and the Tuskans don't rise, I think I've got a decent chance at making Top Eight; maybe Top Four, though the challenge coins are not quite as tempting.

What do you all do with your challenge coins?

I think an 8 TP from round 1 is very good, you don't have to play, you can watch the others playing their first round matches, and use the time to look at ideas / strats to defeat them, while they are concentrating on winning their first game.

It is not just 8 points and 129 MoV, it is a big big advantage.

Seems like cool prize support to me. I've never been to Regionals before, but the alt. art Ackbar and acrylic tokens and dice are pretty sweet. Would love to win some of those.

Yep, a random player would get the first round bye as well.

Didn't win the store championship I played in, but if I had I'd still want to play the first round. I like going to the tourneys with prize support, because swag is a nice bonus, but the whole point is to play. But I'm also not gonna be going to nationals, and am good not great player so... /shrug to each their own.

Stuff looks good though, top 4 would be awesome and what I'm aiming for.
