[Rejoice/SPOILERS] What is Vorlin talking about?

By Gregorius21778, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Greetings, brethern.

I am actually running "Rejoice for you are True" from "Purge the Unclean"... and keep running into thinks I can´t get my mind around....

Why I was able to patch up the quarter of missing Saya (I knowed that pc naturally would go there to investigate... the adventure did not cover it, so)
I run into a new problem with the meeting with Vorlin Orday (the bounty hutnter)

As already mentioned, HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD!

Why the meeting is all about seeting up for the scene in the Hustle, the "reason" for the pc is to ask "something else" (since they do not know about the data block or anything besides the Harmonymeter, the Choir, the etc.).

So, my question:
What could Vorlin be telling them? It is easy to come up with ideas for where and how he got the Meters.... but how to introduce something without making them spin out of direction and out of story?

I do not really understand what your problem actually is. They meet with Vorlin, because he ist the one that got hold of the harmony meter, while checking for Saia Strophes, and because Laurent Strophes suggests it would be a good idea to meet him. When they meet him, he tells them about Saia, her overdose of farcosia and that he acquired a data-slate with info about Magistartum personel bribed by the JC (or so he believes). Most PC's would then think this data-slate might indeed have interesting and compromising information for them. Vorlin believes so either and thus wants money for it. That is the reason they have to meet again in the Hussle...

My group and I are also playing RFYAT at the momet and I ran into serious problems to get them to Ambulon...

The problem is the answer/s Vorlin gives to the pc. At the beginning they will be asking for "from whom did you get the harmony meters?" or any related question. You can either tell them "some guy" (making it clear that this scene is simply about the the data slate. "Bad style" in my books) or you can give the pc some minor details...which might lead them to investigate what ever clue you give them.

Luckly, this problem solved itself today. The point came, the pc asked about how and where he got the harmony meters. Made up some spots where Vorlin ambushed Counsellors and "collected" the meters. But after the story of Vorlin, they didn´t cared and simply focused on the "upper echolons & the nobles" (while all the meters had been "collected" in the middle hive.

So...what was your problem again, Gregorius?
Giving hints that might lead the pc off track vs. giving non-hints which is sort-of-railroading.

Anyway, thanks happy.gif
