Rhymer Ball fleet critique

Hello all,

I was hoping for some suggestions for a SC that will be coming up soon, I am limited by expansions packs ( 2 imp squads, 2 R and Vs, 1 ISD) however I have come up with this mess of ships:

Empire Fleet (397 of 400 pts)

Commander: Admiral Motti (24 pts)

Flagship: (143 pts)

  • Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer(120 pts)
  • Gunnery Team (7 pts)
  • Boosted Comms (4 pts)
  • Electronic Counter Measures (7 pts)
  • SW-7 Ion Batteries (5 pts)


Fleet Ship 1: (83 pts)

  • Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer(56 pts)
  • Demolisher (10 pts)
  • Ordnance Experts (4 pts)
  • Engine Techs (8 pts)
  • Assault Proton Torpedoes (5 pts)


Fleet Ship 2: (44 pts)


  • Raider I-Class Corvette(44 pts)


Squadrons (103 of 134 pts):




  • 1x Darth Vader Tie Advanced Squadron (21 pts)
  • 1x Major Rhymer Tie Bomber Squadron (16 pts)
  • 1x JumpMaster 5000 (12 pts)
  • 2x Tie Bomber Squadron (18 pts)
  • 2x Firespray-31 (36 pts)


Objectives: Precision Strike , Contested Outpost , Superior Positions

any suggestions would help

If your plan is to honestly just make a run for their ships using the Jumpmaster then you could see about changing your firesprays into more tie Bombers even if it's just two Then use the extra points to either grab another escort or put some armanents on the raider ACMs or APT work well.

I also really love the Relentless title for the Imp II. Getting it down to just two command dials can make a big difference, at least it does for me. Having all your ships able to be speed three is very nice. I tend to run a simliar build for a bombing list but I shave a few points here and there to get a near naked Vic just so I have more hp in the list. But that is changing your list a lot. For small changes myabe swap out Firesprays for Tie Bombers but you don't have to. As is your bombing run only takes one squadron command to be able to have everything move and fire which is nice.

Thanks for the advice, I am concerned about squadron activations so I am not sure about too many bombers. My other concern is if i take away one spray would I get mauled by squadrons. I will play around with the ideas though!

I would upgrade the jumpmaster for Dengar. I know Darth is protecting it with escort but he wont last forever and only protects him from attacks from one side so the Brace and Scatter on Dengar keep him alive for another turn or two which is extra anti-ship shots with the bombers. Drop a tie bomber to make you a 4 squadron activation.

I would also ditch SW7s as I usually find accuracies rarely wasted unless you have Avenger or HTTs. This will get you a nice 8 point bid.
