After putting my order in for the awesome War of the Ring Collectors edition I would love to see this game get a similar treatment. Runeboud has been so well established and as some have speculated that not a lot more expansions are coming out for it in the near future. Wouldn't it be nice to see it get the royal treatment too? I have just gotten my hands on some of the later expansions for it but there are a few that are difficult to obtain as most stores I go to tell me they are out of print currently and the price of getting it all is too much. So if anyone thinks this would be a good idea lets start a petition!
Roundboud Collectors edition- any chance?
I know I'd be all for some super edition of Runebound. But I can't imagine how they would make the components better? Maybe pain the Hero's, maybe make the board larger? What else could they do?
But right now I'd rather like to have more encounter expansions for the big box expansions. Get them up to par with the core game. Maybe this is something they could ramp up for a Collectors editions? That would be very cool.
But to be fair they would have to offer all new components as regular add-ons for everyone who doesn't need a collectors editions. Even if they offered them at a later date.
I wouldn't cry to the heavens if a collector's edition of RB came out, but I don't think I'd buy it either. I already have all the big box expansions except Midnight (which I don't want since the primary selling point in RB for me was the lack of an Overlord =P) I have a fair number of the card expansions and will likely pick up the rest in short order. It would probably be more expensive to buy the collector's edition than to finish off getting the expansions I'm missing, and I somehow doubt there would be anything new that would be shiny enough to make it worthwhile.
Also, the idea that Runebound is winding down is just speculation. There's no more evidence that it's ending than there is that it will continue. It could go either way.
