This was causing quite a bit of confusion in my local group, so I reached out to @ffgop on Twitter and got a very prompt response that I thought would be helpful to other communities that have tournaments scheduled before the end of the month.
Edit: I have an official answer from FFG OP that my original decision was correct and we are to use the newest Errata for tomorrow but not the latest tournament rules. As this is an official response, this is how well be doing it.
