Wave 3 is 2 ships...using existing bases, and models that appear to have been pilfered from Rebellion.
If this is all we are getting, what are the odds we will have it by GenCon?

Aren't they scheduled for 3rd quarter?
If so, then there is no chance for gencon if 3rd quarter is true.
I doubt they were pilfered from Rebellion.
At least in the Gozanti standard - the ones in the Ship Pack seem to be larger and better defined than the Rebellion ones to me.
But what do I know?
They are scheduled for Q3
Q3= July, August, September
GenCon runs August 4th-7th
I think it would have been smart if they could use the same molds. Save some costs.

That would depend on wether Rebellion is made with a set of molds that is Unit-by-Unit, or wether Rebellion is a Sprue Mold internally.
Because if all of Rebellion is done effectively on 2 sprues, then there may not have been room for *spare* Gozantis and GR75s to be added to it.
... Even if they did add additional models to the sprues to produce in one go, that also forever couples the production of the two of them. YOu can't print (or reprint) one without the Other.
And honestly, Rebellion is most probably done on 2 sprues. It cuts down on production costs for that game, and that game alone. Otherwise, having a mold for each set of production pieces is vastly more expensive in the injection-plastic department.
No, I highly, highly doubt they are the same models. The limited savings you would gain would not be worth the future economic expense.
They may be the same CAD work. They may even be the same CAD File scaled to different dimensions - or even the SAME dimensions.
But they're certainly not rebellion models. Even if they end up being functionally identical - because how they are "produced" does make a vast difference.
3rd quarter, yes. 2016 ....... maybe ...........
Probably quarter 4 if you live in Australia
@Irokenics: I wonder if there was anything said about shipping games? GAMA is trade show, so maybe they can and have figured out how to move stuff better?
