Ghost attacks w/ docked Attack Shuttle

By rynot916, in X-Wing Rules Questions

With the attack chart now in effect, the Ghost can attack two times with a TLT. Each time doing the double attack of the TLT.

With the new attack flow chart, TLT are seen as one big opportunity to attack with some nested step done in double.

Wow.... sounds pretty dangerous, but I think it would drive me nuts to be repeatedly rolling that much dice.

The cheapest possible way to pull off the TLT double tap on the Ghost is 59 points. 2 TLT Y Wings can be purchased for 48 points and can each have separate single action modifications. They have the same Hull and Shields as well. (excluding docked shuttle). Ghosts can be effective but are very expensive for TLT boats.

Would Finn get to add his blank dice if firing out the back arc with the ghost docked with titles.

Yes, with the primary weapon attack. No, for torpedo or turret attacks.

this may not be the place to ask this but it came up the other day. After Kanan in the Ghost is destroyed and the Phantom with Hera at the helm is forced to undock, does the phantom then get to attack even though it's opportunity has passed in PS order?

The Phantom cannot attack in the round it is forced to undock due to the Ghost's destruction, so it's a moot point.

Hi

I am new to the community.

I know there has been some discussion on this but have ffg given an answer to using the auto blaster with accuracy corrector when the phantom is docked on the ghost. can the ABT be used in an initial attack and then at the end of the combat phase.

I played a game last night and it caused quite a discussion as it one shot an imperial ship. clearly arguments on both sides as to how it works.

thanks in advance.

Hi, I am new to the community and wonder if there was an final answer from FFG as to being able to use the ABT with accuracy corrector for the main shot and then the end of combat phase withe phantom title.

Played a game last night and this caused quite a discussion as the imperial player who got on range 1 with a 3 hull ship was convinced it could not be done.

I appreciate its been discussed and members have said yes, however if there is an official rule somewhere that I may have missed, it would resolve uncertainty.

Thanks

There's no official guidance that I'm aware of that says you can use the Autoblaster Turret/Accuracy Corrector/Ghost/Phantom combo to do two unavoidable damage to a ship at Range 1 during the Ghost's normal attack and then again at the end of the Combat phase, but there's also no credible argument that it shouldn't work that way. At least none that I've seen.

If you absolutely positively need something official on this, FFG has a Rules Question Form where you can submit a question and (eventually) receive an answer from one of the developers, usually Frank Brooks. I would encourage you not to waste Frank's time with this, but you have the option.

(If you do send a Rules Query on this and get a response, please post it in the FFG Email Ruling Collection thread, so we'll have it available for the next person with this question.)

There is no official answer because there is no need for one.

Not all interaction have an "official" answer. There is nothing on the card that say you can't do two times the same attack.

The card grant you primary weapon from the special arc and an additional attack with a turret weapon at the end of the turn.

Yes this is good against 4 life or less ship, this is to the other player to be aware and not get into range one with his ace.

There's no need for an official answer, the rules are very clear. If you park a 4 hull or less ship next to an ABAC Ghost, that ship dies, no save. Unless it's Omega Leader, in which case he has a chance.

The word 'cannot' may be pretty solid in "not allowing," but it is definitely not clear that when they say 'attack again this round' that they mean the second attack of a weapons special feature over another attack from a card or ability.

I don't have a vested interest in this myself, I don't use the Ghost ship or intend to use this build anytime soon, but it is clear that clarity on the issue is not achieved. I would consider the TLT capable based off of current wording, but I wouldn't be able to rule out the uncertainty with current FAQ,rules, & wordings involved.

How does this relate to the thread at all?

BTW it's absolutely clear that the Ghost can TLT or primary in the Combat phase, then complete a full TLT in the end phase, from the FAQ.
