G1-A Lists

By bwingstrike, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So trying to think of ways of using the G1-A for a list for an upcoming Store Championship.

List 1

Zuckuss - VI, FCS, Gonk, Title & Tractor Beam - 34

Guri - Predator, Sensor Jammer, Autothrusters & Title - 40

Palob - Ion Cannon Turret - 25

So Palob steals the focus tokens, which means Guri is a tough target to hit. Zuckuss gonks some shields at the start to help out later on, using them when necessary.

List 2

Guri - Predator & Autothrusters - 35

2 x Ruthless Freelancer - FCS - 25

Black Sun Soldier - 13

The G1's are there to chuck TLed and Focused shots. Guri deals with TLT's and the Z-95 is there for the extra ship.

I'm planning to run this as my first Mist Hunter list:

Zuckuss - FCS, Gunner, Title & Tractor Beam - 36

Guri - Sensor Jammer & Title - 35

Black Sun Vigo - Autothrusters - 29

The idea behind my list is to have Zuckuss hit first and hit hard ... using his ability to roll extra attack dice in his standard attack (backed up by gunner and FCS) or use tractor beam to lower the agility of high-agility ships (and move then onto asteroids or into better firing arcs for the two Starvipers).

Guri and the second Starviper come in from flanking positions to mop up whatever Zuckuss weakened ... or they focus on killing TLTs.

I fully assume that my opponent will focus on Zuckuss and take him off the board first, that is why I concentrated on offense with him. I'm not worrying about losing Zuckuss as long as he takes a couple of enemy ships out of play or weakens them so the Starvipers can finish them off before he dies.

The arc-dodgy Starvipers should survive (and kill ships) as long as low-agility fresh meat like Zuckuss is on the table to be the primary target.

The worst-case scenario (and the thing I need to avoid) with this build would be if I lose Zuckuss and one of the Starvipers before I've killed most of the enemy ships. A single Starviper can handle 1-2 ships but it's a hard fight if I've only got one Starviper against 3 or more ships.

TBH, I've been curious about just running freelancers 4 with FCS. It worked well enough in BBBBZ, and with TLTs (at least in my area) showing up a bit less frequently, might be a solid jousting list.

That's another list I want to try. But I've only got 2 Misthunters at the moment!

only G-1a build I've run is

Xizor (vi, virago, fcs, thrusters) [37]

Zuckuss (vi, dengar, misthunter) [33]

2 Blacksun Soldier (feedback) [30]

full 100

the two PS 9s complemented each other incredibly well, and I don't think Zuckuss would have done anything had he kept to a lowly 7. Higher PS means you get to arc-correct with barrel-roll and, more importantly, shoot before you get eviscerated by enemy fire

the trick with Zuckuss' ability is simple, you want mods and you want the enemy to have none. Blocking is about the only way to accomplish this, though you can have fully modified Xizor try to coax tokens off the enemy before zuckuss fires

very punchy little ship, but also hellishly squishy

another G-1a I want to try is

4-lom (V.I & FCS/Predator, Zuckuss, Misthunter) [32]

PS 6/8 is far less useful than 7/9 (beats out aggressors, can beat inquisitor and match soontir etc) but he's got Zuckuss crew enabling his interesting ability

problem is I know I'd miss Dengar. Dengar (crew) is just plain awesome

4LOM (27)

• Stay on Target (2)

• Fire-Control System (2)

• Outlaw Tech (2)

= 33 pts

Palob Godalhi (20)

• Adaptability - Increase (0)

• Twin Laser Turret (6)

• Intelligence Agent (1)

• Cloaking Device (2)

= 29 pts

Trandoshan Slaver (29)

• Bossk (2)

• Tactician (2)

• Gunner (5)

= 38 pts

Stress and board control with reliable attack modifications.

4LOM takes point and comboes SoT with Outlaw for focus+TL every turn after FCS kicks in, then just goes "dey c me rollin', dey hatin'" like the boss he is.

Palob is a menace in every range and cloaks for defense. Even cloaked, he influences the board with his ability and Intel Agent. Same PS as 4LOM gives you more flexibility on the first approach.

Slaver puts the hurt and double stress with Bossk shenanigans.
