Just wondering if anyone is running into the same issue that I did last night. After flying two ghosts around for a while, it seems the bottom portion of the ghost peg (connecting the peg to the base) is far to loose to be useful. It seemed like every other movement with either ship, one of them would just topple over.
Obviously this will just require me to magnetize them, but its just annoying that a new design doesnt work out of the box.
Ghost peg is super duper annoying
I agree. I wish it had used a recessed peg like how the Epic ships work. Maybe they tried that and found it wasn't enough (it's almost Gozanti-sized, after all).
Mine is flawless. Tight and secure. Probably just manufacturing differences.
Though it will make it difficult if you have 2 Ghosts flying close to each other. Can't exactly raise or lower them.

If someone runs a 2x VCX-100 build at a premier event, I'm thinking they're going to have to make a special exception to allow you to take one of them off their stand. There's no way that they aren't going to bump up against each other.

Really good to know, unfortunate that two of mine aren't tight.

I have never seen the "Raise or lower" enforced with bigger ships. Is this a problem where you are?
Super...duper...

Would a bit of poster tack (the white sticky putty stuff) help at all to keep the peg secure?

Idk, why would you want to do that? Im just gonna dremel out the base and stand and put a magnet on so it sticks.
Peg fits snugly for me but I used an old base, not the one that came with the Ghost. Maybe try the fit on a few bases and see if it feels different.

They are the new super-size large ships, which simply can not fly in close formation with each other. If you can not physically move them there with both models attached than you can not move them there. While fighters still can sip between them ;-)
Edited by SEApocalypseMy point was about Premier Level Events, where the rules are more strictly enforced - e.g., Worlds (where this did come up for someone I knew).
I haven't noticed an issue, but I was a bit disappointed that the back 2 stand bits don't connect into the ship in any way. Makes it feel a bit more wobbly just in general, whether the peg itself is secure or not.
I was also mildly disappointed that the placement of the peg eliminates the ides of using the epic stand instead.
Not major issues for me, but I'm not in love with the direction they went.

Yeah I had exactly the same feeling - why go to all the trouble of making a custom tripod if it just ends up feeling flimsy and loose?
Super...duper...
...beams are gonna find me...
I don't have a Ghost yet, but my TIE FOs are all extremely loose (i.e. don't grip the stand). That's annoying. lol

I have the opposite problem - my TIE FO and T-70 pegs from the core sets are so tight that they're cracking the pegs. Goes to show you how inconsistent the manufacturing is. I suppose that's inevitable for the relatively low price we pay for these models.
Mine's pretty wobbly, and I was under the impression that the two rear supports would be fitted pegs, and not the unsecured free supports they are. Might have to do some modding.

I suspect that mass produced, they wouldn't reliably get all 3 pegs to line up with the 3 slots on the Ghost.

I can top that: my TIE/FO cracked the peg on the model itself on the 3rd turn. I did send the first core set directly back and now simply happily use them loose, but indeed the production quality of the TFA core seems troubling. But I guess, handling free replacement minis is cheaper than reducing production variance.
I have big clumsy hands and have broken pegs on ships the first day I've had them. I'm worried I'll do that with the Ghost since it's a peg/post that I can't as easily swap with another.
Mine seems to be fine.
I think for the price they should have come up with something better. I think mine are up to spec, they don't fall off, but they do wobble a lot if the table wobbles. and having no way of changing their height means that 2 of them flying close inevitably means you have to remove one
For those of you with loose pegs, this stuff is magical: http://www.aerodromeaccessories.com/index.php/game-aides/wings-of-glory/altitude-glue.html
