The Crucible is a 4 day gaming convention in Orlando. This is it's 5th year. For Xwing this year, the top 8 play on Sunday. To be in the top 8, you need to finish in the top 2 in one of the feeder tournaments. There was one at Dogs of War in Palm Bay over the winter. The other three are the Thu, Fri and Sat of the Crucible. I played my Ndru/TLT list last night.
Ndru, VI, Glitterstim, Cluster Missiles, Guidance Chips
Thug Ywing, TLT, R4 Agromech x2
Thug Ywing, TLT
Only 5 people showed up for the Thursday night tournament.
I got a round 1 bye and played a pickup game. He had ghost and the attack shuttle. He had just bought it and was all he had with him to play with. The ghost pilot was the one that lets you change the maneuver dial to another maneuver of the same difficulty. He had the crew member that lets you shoot the ship you are touching (and it gets to shoot you). It was a quick game, I jousted the TLTs at him with Nadru flanking. The attack shuttle got deployed as soon as we reached weapons range and went down the same turn. The 4 dice primary (5 at range one) is scary, but he was throwing unmodified attacks and rolled poorly. A few turns later and Ghost went down too.
Round 2 was against 3 contracted scouts running deadeye, guidance chips, R4 Agro's, extra munitions on two, Plasma Torpedoes on 1 and Proton Torpedoes on the 2 with extra munitions
