Thoughts on a rebel list

By mcworrell, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Faction: Rebel Alliance

Points: 392/400

Commander: Admiral Ackbar

Assault Objective: Precision Strike

Defense Objective: Fleet Ambush

Navigation Objective: Superior Positions

[ flagship ] MC80 Command Cruiser (106 points)

- Admiral Ackbar ( 38 points)

- Intel Officer ( 7 points)

- Expanded Hangar Bay ( 5 points)

- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)

- H9 Turbolasers ( 8 points)

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points)

- Yavaris ( 5 points)

- Wing Commander ( 6 points)

- Engine Techs ( 8 points)

CR90 Corvette B (39 points)

- Tantive IV ( 3 points)

- SW 7 Ion Batteries ( 5 points)

1 YT-2400 ( 16 points)

2 B-Wing Squadrons ( 28 points)

1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)

1 "Dutch" Vander ( 16 points)

1 Wedge Antilles ( 19 points)

I stink at objectives, any help there would be great.

Apart from turn 1 Yavaris should be squadroning most of the time so switch out Wing commander for Ray Antilles to potentially double tap with 3 squadrons. It also usually goes slow so as to not outrun its own B-Wings so Engine techs would work better on the MC80 maybe?

Ackbar on Nebs isn't great as you expose your paper side shields to use it. I suppose it is insurance against getting caught in the side.

The CR90A with TRCs is a better corvette in Ackbar lists.

Fighters look fun. Be nice to get a third B-Wing in there so I might drop expanded hangar and H9 lasers to get one.

I would love another B-Wing, but currently only have one reb fighter pack. Might see if I can squeeze the CR 90 A into the list, but don't have the TRCs yet.

Thanks for the input.

I'd swap the H9s for XI7s, as it lets you reliably Intel Brace tokens on bigger targets.

As for objectives, if you end up sticking with Ackbar (over, say, Garm), consider Advanced Gunnery for your Assault Objective, as the threat of tossing 12 dice at long range isn't a bad trade for Initiative. I never find Fleet Assault to be that strong since it leaves the opponent a lot of space to solve their situation, and I'd never give up the chance to drop Yavaris on top of someone with Hyperspace Assault. Lastly, 6 squadrons seems fine for Superior Positions, but it's kind of a wash vs enemy carrier fleets, so watch out for that.

Thanks for the thoughts, i haven't played enough games yet to really know what works with what objectives.
