Equipping the G-1A Starfighter

By yoji, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This is one idea ive been thinking about

PILOTS

Zuckuss (35)
G-1A Starfighter (28), Crack Shot (1), 4-LOM (1), Fire-Control System (2), Glitterstim (2), Mist Hunter (0), Tractor beam (1)

or Push the Limit

Im also wondering if 4-LOM is to big of a beatdown on himself since he's small base?

My basic build I'm looking at is 4LOM/Mist Hunter/Juke/FCS.

The dial for the G1A is red enough that you should be able to get trollface out of 4LOM in most cases, but if you really want to make sure, try Advanced Sensors/Navigator/Stay On Target...

is your first one with 4-lom as pilot then?
yea ive seen the stress "combo" it seems fun..

Mine? Yes. I think you could usually get a stress with 4LOM just by moving, so I'm not sure it's worth investing in getting it, rather than just investing in making him hit hard.

I'm looking at 4LOM for action economy and some much needed control:

4LOM (27)

• Stay On Target (2)

• Fire Control System (2)

• Outlaw Tech (2)

= 33 pts

That's the basic template. MH title and/or Glitterstim as optionals, but not vital.

Gives me Focus + TL reliably as long as 4LOM is in the heat of battle and is a fantastic PS5 hunter, which might be a thing in this meta. Planning on pairing him with a Bossk/Tactician/Gunner Trandoshan Slaver for stress annoyance and TLT Intel Agent Palob for some serious board control.

I do think people go a bit too hard on trying to enable stress on 4-lom

all you need is Zuckus (Crew), that's it. 1 point, powerful ability; control the amount of stress you need based upon positioning. Just one die re-rolled can screw your opponent, not counting the stress you may be able to pass off at the end of combat

after playing B-wings and Zuckuss, though, gotta say the dial is not a reliable source of stress. You're going to want focus to match your re-rolls from FCS/dengar/predator whichever, and you're going to want to do maneuvers that aren't 1-turns or 3-banks or k-turns

But you should be able to force stress on him, simply because your opponent can ignore him otherwise. And that would be a shame.

I thought along very similar lines, except I opted for advanced sensors over the fire-control system.

It is a point extra relative to your setup, but the action economy is just as good... Better even, since you can make your regular action whatever you want before doing your stay on target red maneuver.

Although I'd say that with the advanced sensors the M/H title becomes more of a must-have than a nice addon.

I tried a fully loaded 4-lom and it flies like a slightly worse b-wing I think less is definatly more with this ship

I've been thinking 4-lom(27) Zukuss(1) misthunter(0) tractor beam(1)

At 29 pts it's Cheap enough and still has a few good tools. Zukuss crew works extreamly well with 4-lom's pilot ability.

When building for him, I found out the extra (2) point(s) astonishingly crippling.

But you're absolutely right: Adv. Sensors gives the G-1 much more freedom. Also, MH title becomes imperative.
