Cheat!
cheat caught on video??????
This is what the challenge coins are for! You put them in the glittery dicebags and instant prison weapon for punishing cheating players! (This is a joke btw, I will let final judgement up to FFG)

No... I think you are onto something here....
Well i think from now on i will be taking my GoPro to next tournaments and record each match ![]()
The issue is already discussed in the German X-Wing community. The player "touching" the dial, claims he just plays nervously with it, but doesn't move it at all.
But all in all it looks pretty obvious that the dial is moving when you watch it in slow-motion...
Reduce video speed to 0.5 -> obvious cheating starting at 2:20.
This should have consequences.
You don't even need to slow it down. Dude is cheating.
Obvious result should be for the TO to get in touch with FFG

Not sure - the upload and the video is from the guy, who you blame to cheat.
Isn't it a little bit stupid to show a video clue of his own cheating? Or do you think he forget about the action or that he thinks that he's too clever/smart, that anybody else would see it?

But the guy on the FFG blacklist wasn't filming the match with his own camera.
That's like bringing a video-cam to a robbery, get away with some $ and put the video with real name on youtube later.
That's just not smart ...
When you're so sure no-one will notice, camera or not does not make any difference. Besides, if you bring your own camera many people would assume you wouldn't be so dumb to cheat. Well, surprise ![]()

Maybe he plain forgot in the heat of the moment. Winning could be all important to him, so he did what he always does.
As people had said earlier, you cannot touch the dials whilst other ships movement is in progress. Why would he need to touch them? Why is his muscles in his hand flexed as if in motion or carrying out a task?
So, he fiddled with his dial for no less than half a minute, only to let go of it when it was actually time to flip it. I like the extra touch of him then presenting the dial to his opponent, as some sort of subconscious move to make it seem legit. Which it is anything but after having seen the previous 30 seconds of tweaking it. "Look, can I get a pad on the head, because I'm so smart to have predicted your move and done a perfect 3-bank?"
FFG has a banning policy for these things and I wonder if we're finally going to see a second name on it or whether this video isn't clear enough evidence. Speaking of which, did anyone copy it, to avoid him simply taking it down (though that would only make him look even more like he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar dial)
the german community where this game took place is investigating and collecting evidence, so yeah we downloaded the video already...

Holmelund has said he has.
He does the same thing on the first round at around 55 seconds.
Edited by GiraffeandZebraI don't think there is enough here to brand this person a cheater. My suspicions are not good, but suspicions are not enough. The evidence should be more convincing.

Your right, 2 times
Can't watch entire video right now, wonder if there is more such behaviour. ![]()
Yup X-wing has now surpassed 40k in popularity.
This was an inevitability.

I think video speaks for it self. Why would you play with the dial holding it so? IF you forgot move, you would look up and place it down. Then before he needs to reveal, he places it down, then picks it up again.
**** those germans.... ![]()
*some german here*
the case is at Heiderlberger Spieleverlag (the company distributing x-wing in germany)
so they will decide further
Firstly, the German community is outraged and is dealing with the situation at hand.
Secondly, most German players are chill (when not outraged ;-) )
