Alright, I'll admit it. Ever since I found out about imperial veterans I've been drooling over the defender. They spent a while collecting dust (well...not that much dust...I've only been playing for 3-4 months) I flew them once after opening them then never looked back. They simply cost too much to fly alongside my favorite imperial ship, the TIE Phantom. However, now that FFG has decided to "fix" the defender, I wanted to take advantage of that sexy dial before everyone got their grimy hands on her.
After reading a few articles on jousting efficiency and other math stuffs I decided that HLC was the way to go on my defender. Why stop there? Now that I'm rolling 4 dice, I might as well turn them all to hits on almost every attack (my glass cannon phantom mentality prevails) well...vessery happens to have some really nice natural modifications that combine nicely with the ultimate modification action -- focus. Nothing else really seemed worth the points on an already self-sufficient and expensive TIE defender, so I opted to spend the rest of my points elsewhere...on target locking studs that turn my defender into a giant cannon wielding 3 winged spike ball of doom.
Anyway...the TAP and TIE/FO expansions have served as an indirect buff to col. vessery thanks to their efficient target locking shenanigans. Here's the list I have spent the past month or so refining and tweaking (and totally changing when I dropped vader for the inquisitor) feel free to give me your honest praise or point out some serious logical flaws in my build. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to ship lists and synergy and if you see something awesome that I am overlooking, I would greatly appreciate that valuable information alongside any and all feedback. Omega leader loves target locks and is soooooo efficient vs aces for the points you spend on him
The inquisitor clocks in at the perfect amount of points, provides arc dodging, and is a platform for autothrusters (a necessity in 3 ship builds these days)
