The New Stress Bot

By RogerWilco15, in X-Wing

What's your 4-LOM build? How do you plan on using his ability? Right now I'm thinking:

4-LOM: PTL, Advanced Sensors, Outlaw Tech, Mist Hunter

All about getting stress and benefiting from it through free actions and a more open dial.

How are you going to annoy your opponents with scum stress?

Rage and a K4 Security Droid seems like fun.

They also seem someone redundant given Rage gives you a reroll for 3 dice.

Yes, it does. But the K4 gives you some security (heh) if you want to rage but don't have an enemy ship at Range 1, and both upgrades are cheap enough that some redundancy isn't a problem.

4-Lom w/Daredevil and K4 should make for one hell of a knife fighter.

True. The other thing to consider is that it doesn't have to be an enemy ship at R1. 4-LOM can pass the stress off to anyone at R1. So if you have an ally who can shed stress easily, you can always give it to him.

The other option is also the Electronic Baffles as a last resort if you don't have anyone to shed the stress to.

What's the PS of the "stress-donut"?

Oh, it's bad... everyone you'll want to stress has barrelrolls and boosts all over...

Was really thinking about 4-LOM loaded out this way for ultimate shenaniganry:

4-LOM (27)

- Rage (1)

- Electronic Baffle (1)

- Zuckuss (1)

- Mist Hunter (0)

- Tractor Beam (1)

Total: 31

Prone to being stressed out the wazoo, but man this could be fun to ensure a Tractor Beam or devastating R1 attack lands.

4-Lom w/Wired + Gonk + Experimental Interface

I like Juke instead of Wired and adding in FCS

My build is:

Stay on target (2)

Advanced sensors (3)

Mist hunter title (1)

Intelligence agent (1)

Process: look enemy ship's dial, then perform action with advs, then change your maneuver with SoT so you make sure you end your maneuver stressed and at range 1 of that enemy ship.

Rage + advanced sensors, nice and cheap is my thought.

Wow. I didn't realize how good this is. With Rebel Captive Soontur can game it by taking Evade, then getting stress and a free focus token. With this, he HAS to take actions to get out of range or risk double stress (or getting shot up with only one defensive token) because it happens at the end of the combat phase.

I ran him as follows.

4-LOM

Rage

Adv Sensors

Boba Fett

Title / Beam

Boba could probably be replaced with something else (just was experimenting with it.) The idea is to use adv sensors to trigger rage. Pull a green move and get in close. Hammer away at someone and pass off the stress.

Love this thread, I did try the G-1A a few weeks ago on vassal, but other stuff took the limelight since then. It's refreshing to see these ideas pan out.

either Predator Zuckus Misthunter (or cloak instead of title)

or VI Zuckuss FCS Misthunter (or cloak instead of title)

32/33 points

don't think there's another way to generate stress on demand as well as action-independent and absolutely-up-to-the-player Zuckuss crew

it's like they were made to work together or something :P

K4 also works if you bump, while Rage does not.

Advanced sensors makes bumping actually ideal since they will then be exceedingly likely to be r1 of you.

Does anyone see 4-LOM becoming a scum staple or is it's lack of survivability going to hold it back?

oh almost certainly the latter

if FFG wanted to make the g1-a competitively viable, they could've given 4-lom PS 7 and Zuckuss PS 8

with VI getting them 9 and 10, they could've overcome their squishiness simply by shooting first. Note, they wouldn't kill a guy in one shot, but they'd be able to shoot, take one on the chin, and then fire again without getting obliterated

Zuckuss at 9 at least ties with Soontir and co, but 4-lom's in a much more awkward spot

anyway, I'm just happy that they're fun and can really put the hurt on enemy aces. I have a really big soft spot for these Squishy "Aces", such as the G-1as and Deathrain and Redline, because they can actually have a huge impact on the game. they also die like flies if used incorrectly, but that's part of the fun :P

Throw a Sensor Jammer on that tank.

If you're not too worried about higher PS, Outlaw Tech makes a good crew, too. AdvS a TL, then do a red and get a Focus, too.

K4 also works if you bump, while Rage does not.

Advanced sensors makes bumping actually ideal since they will then be exceedingly likely to be r1 of you.

1. Adv. Sensors Rage for 2 stress + benefits

2. Green move into some chump for the bump

3. K4 the guy you just bumped

4. You cleared 1/2 of your stress by doing a green, good work

5. 4-LOM your last stress on the guy you just bumped and do it again

Enjoy no stress on your Rage, a pseudo TL + focus against anyone else in your arc this turn, and a TL + focus to use against the bump chump on your next turn when you Adv. Sensors a focus before 3/4 K-turning to continue the engagement (and potentially give that K-turn stress away too).

This thread rocks! I'm so excited to try out some new 4-LOM builds now!

Mist Hunter title. They dodge out, bring 'em right back.
