Barrel Roll off the board

Can you barrel roll someone off the board with tractor beam?

Answered, Thanks.

No.

You must be new here

Where does it say you can't? If you can put ships on rocks and debris the you should also be allowed to put them off the board.

The FAQ specifically says you can't ever barrel roll or boost off the board. Since the movement from tractor beam is defined as a barrel roll or boost, all normal rules for those movements apply.

The people who designed the game disagree.

That is a logical fallacy.

yeah, because he said so.. lol ... OMG..

That is a new one for me ...

BUT DAD SAID I COULD! I HATE YOU! I'M NOT HUNGRY!

Just point him to where is states that it's not allowed... I feel it's in the faq.. point out where it is ... Are the game designer'shoes out to dinner and the kid's member's left alone to gang bash people... Be productive and stay on topic.

It is in the Rules Reference: "A ship cannot barrel roll if this would cause the ship to flee the battlefield."

It is interesting though as you are not normally allowed to barrel roll/boost onto 'roids, and yet TB lets you.

and it also says that of your movement takes you off the play area you are removed. It also says that you cannot barrel roll on to an asteroid. Show him where to look

That's the exception that proves the rule.

Like: "no parking except for Wednesdays" does not mean it's legal to park there on Fridays.

There is one exception, not two. If there were two exceptions, they would have said so on the card where it gives us the one exception.

I copy pasted the relevant rule. Nothing else to show.

I don't disagree but I don't think his question warranted the gang-up. I think it was a legit question.

what is the new Tie couldn't arc dodge because of all the BS wings hugging the edge and theyou made up the tractor beam just to put an end to edge hugging...

love it when my phone corrects everything and I look like Stephen Hawkins talking

in the rulebook.

I know what it says in the rule book guys. Jeez!

Sorry, but your post indicated, that you don't. If you know the rules, why the question? Just follow, what the rulebook says. Tractor beam rule card does not say anything about barrel rolling off the board, so the standard rule - which you are supposedly familiar with - applies.

But it doesn't say you can't either.

Yes they do. The rules say you can't so you can't. The card doesn't have to as it is not overridden any rules there. You've been answered several times now. Please just stop.

The rule is clear, but not intuitive, and in my opinion, the asteroid exception brings up reasonable doubt that warrants clarification if one is unsure. Where else is one to go to get confirmation if not the forums? Give the wookiee a break.

everyone calm the **** down. It was a legitimate question. "SOMEONE DIDNT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE RULES! LETS SHOW HIM WHATFOR!" The rules say you can't BR or boost onto an asteroid, and yet TB lets you do that! So just saying "The rules say so" doesnt mean anything, because the rules, on a separate page from TB, say that you cant BR or boost onto obstacles, but that's wrong now if TB triggered that.

I didn't even know if you could BR or boost someone off the board with TB or not. You gonna gang up on everyone who doesnt know everything, even if it may not have been told to them before?
