Movement and Attacking

By keggboy777, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

The other day we played the campaign (guess this would apply skirmish as well) and on the player's turn his figure had 4 movement point. 1st action, He moved up two and the space was occupied by another rebel hero, he fired his weapon, 2nd action, and moved back to the original starting space.

We didn't see anything in the rules that you can't do this. The only thing is that you can't "end" your movement in an occupied space.

Any clarity on this would be helpful.

You cannot end your movement in the same space as another figure, unless you are massive. Technically, whenever a figure stops moving for any reason, it is ending its movement. Note that "ending" your movement does not mean you are done moving for the activation.

FAQ, Page 4:

Q: Can a figure perform an action while occupying the same space as another figure as long as it still has enough movement points remaining to exit that space after performing the action?

A: No. A figure must end its movement in order to perform any actions and a figure cannot end its movement in a space containing another figure (unless it is massive).

You have to end movement to take an action, and you can't end movement in a space with another figure.

Also, you can only enter a space with another figure if you can end the movement in a legal space.

How about for strain + move does that stack? Say that a hero wants to move, so they use an action to gain movement points equal to their speed, then they want to do their double strain move, so they say I am taking two strain to add 2 movement points. It's Fenn lets say, and he has tactical movement, so he uses that to gain 2 more. So now he has a total of 8 movement points that he can do whatever he wants with AND still has an action, correct?

Just seems like a lot of movement.. but I guess its an XP ability and it cost him 2 strain to do so.

Whether you use the move action or suffer (upto 2) strain (or use any non-special action) to gain movement points during your activation, they go to a movement point pool. You can spend movement points to move the figure before or after actions.

Yes, Fenn can gain 8 movement points from Tactical Movement, 2 strain and a move action.

(A hero can also suffer strain to gain movement points without taking the move action.)
